Cy Ranch, Cy Woods Advance to UIL Region Semifinal in Volleyball Playoffs
It’s playoff time, and the excitement continues for two standout Cypress-Fairbanks ISD volleyball programs. Cypress Ranch and Cypress Woods high schools are headed to the UIL Class 6A Region Semifinal after thrilling victories in the area round this week. Meanwhile, Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, and Jersey Village concluded their impressive seasons as area finalists, marking a strong showing for CFISD teams overall.
Cy Ranch Wins Five-Set Battle, Advances to Face Rockwall
The Cypress Ranch Mustangs fought through a nail-biting five-set match against The Woodlands, ultimately emerging victorious with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-17, 18-25, and 16-14. The win pushes Cy Ranch deeper into the Class 6A playoffs, where they’ll face Rockwall in the region semifinal.
That match is set for Thursday, Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at Waco Midway High School, located at 8200 Mars Drive. Tickets are $6 for both adults and students and must be purchased online in advance.
Cy Woods Powers Past Oak Ridge to Meet North Forney
The Cypress Woods Wildcats also punched their ticket to the region semifinals after a four-set victory over Conroe Oak Ridge, finishing with scores of 25-17, 21-25, 25-23, and 25-22.
The Wildcats will now take on North Forney at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7 at Robinson High School, located at 700 W. Tate Ave. in Robinson, Texas. Tickets for that matchup are $5 per person (cash only) and will be sold at the gate.

Strong Seasons Come to a Close for Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, and Jersey Village
While Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, and Jersey Village wrapped up their postseason runs, each team made its mark in the area round.

Bridgeland High School, the District 16-6A third seed, fell to Conroe Grand Oaks in straight sets (23-25, 18-25, 16-25) and concluded the season as area finalists.

Cy-Fair High School, the fourth seed from District 17-6A, lost to powerhouse Fulshear in three sets (11-25, 10-25, 22-25), also finishing as area finalists.

Jersey Village High School, District 17-6A’s third seed, dropped their match to Katy Seven Lakes (17-25, 13-25, 17-25) and rounded out a hard-fought season as area finalists as well.

With two CFISD teams still in the playoff hunt, excitement is building across the Cypress community. Families, friends, and local fans are encouraged to make the drive and show their support for the Mustangs and Wildcats as they battle for a spot in the regional final.
No matter the outcome ahead, this postseason is already a proud chapter for CFISD volleyball. From hard-fought rallies to all-out hustle, these student-athletes have represented their schools—and their community—with heart and determination.
