Cy-Fair ISD Names Lynn Blakeslee as New Principal for Goodson Middle School
In an exciting new chapter for Goodson Middle School, Cy-Fair ISD has appointed Lynn Blakeslee as the school’s new principal, effective December 17, 2024. Blakeslee, who has dedicated 29 years to education, takes over the role from Richard Dixon, who was named principal of Bridgeland High School in November.
Blakeslee brings extensive experience to her new position, having spent 25 of those 29 years within Cy-Fair ISD. Her career began as a biology teacher and assistant basketball coach in Tyler ISD and Bryan ISD before she joined Cy-Fair ISD in 2000. She initially worked at Cypress Springs High School as a teacher and coach, eventually being named head girls' basketball coach. Afterward, she served as an assistant principal at Cook Middle School, then Cypress Woods High School, before assuming her current role as associate principal at Jersey Village High School in 2020.

A graduate of the University of Houston – Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences, Blakeslee also earned her Master of Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. She holds multiple certifications, including her Principal Certificate.

Blakeslee’s appointment marks an exciting milestone for Goodson Middle School as it moves forward under her leadership, with an emphasis on fostering a strong, supportive learning environment for students and staff alike. The Cy-Fair ISD community looks forward to her contributions as she builds upon the school’s legacy of success.
