Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce Honors Outstanding Businesses with 2023 Business of the Year Awards
Recognizing outstanding achievements and dedication to the community, the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce proudly announced the winners of the 2023 Business of the Year Award on February 20, 2024 at the organization's monthly General Membership Luncheon. Since 2002, these awards have celebrated local businesses that have excelled and made significant accomplishments within the Cy-Fair community.
The awards are broken up into four categories including Non-Profit, Small, Medium, and Large businesses. With a rigorous review process, businesses are judged and scored on a 20 point scale by a panel of 12 independent judges comprised of business leaders.
This year saw four exceptional organizations rise to the top. The Non-Profit winner was Cypress Assistance Ministries (CAM). Formed in 1990, CAM has shown incredible growth and commitment to the community, providing support to those facing financial hardship, unemployment and other adversities. The organization's faith-based mission is driven by a commitment to restoring self-sufficiency. Led by Executive Director Martha Burnes, the team at CAM offers a range of assistance, from financial support and job counseling to school supplies and Christmas toys.
"These winners carry a strong company vision, have shown significant financial or service contributions to our community, in addition to providing exemplary customer service - a truly deserved honor for each one of these organizations,” comments Leslie Martone, President and CEO of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce.
Animal ER of Northwest Houston, a privately owned emergency and critical veterinary hospital, took home the award for Small Business of the Year. Serving families in Cypress, Katy, and Waller, the dedicated staff under the leadership of Dr. Jennifer Hennessey offers personalized care plans and seamless transport for pets, underlining their commitment to superior customer service. Recently, Animal ER of northwest Houston announced that Dr. Michelle Winthrow would be carrying the mantle as owner of the practice while Dr. Jennifer Hennessey steps into retirement.
In the Medium Business category, Fish Window Cleaning Houston North led by Marc Jones claimed this year's title. Renowned for professional widow cleaning services in the residential and commercial sectors, it has maintained a strong presence in the community since 2006.
Bridgeland, developed by Howard Hughes, came first in the Large Business category. Known for its diverse homes, community spirit, and sustainable practices, this top-selling, master-planned community exemplifies a healthy blend of nature and sustainability, serving as a model for modern, eco-conscious living. Bridgeland projects to have approximately 20,000 homes upon completion.
“The Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce is beyond proud to have so many extraordinary members that go above and beyond in their business practices to make the Cy-Fair community better for all,” Martone added.
