Crest Management Kicks Off 9th Annual Summer Juice Box Challenge to Support Kids’ Meals in Greater Houston

April 01 2025

With summer approaching, Crest Management is once again rallying its communities to take part in a campaign that addresses one of Houston’s most pressing issues: childhood hunger. Now in its ninth year, Crest Management’s involvement in the Summer Juice Box Challenge supports Kids’ Meals Houston, a nonprofit dedicated to delivering free, healthy meals to preschool-aged children living in food-insecure homes throughout Harris and Montgomery Counties.

The annual Kids’ Meals Summer Juice Box Challenge runs from April 1 through June 30, 2025. During this time, community members are encouraged to donate 100% juice boxes to help ensure children in the Greater Houston Area receive complete and nutritious meals during the summer months—a time when free school-based meal programs are unavailable.

“Summer is long when you’re hungry,” said Pam Hummel, a community manager with Crest Management and long-time organizer of the campaign. “These juice boxes are more than just a drink—they complete a meal that may be the only one a child receives that day.”

Founded in 2006, Kids’ Meals is the only program of its kind in the U.S., delivering more than 17 million meals to date across 56 zip codes. The organization also works with over 70 wraparound service partners to help families break the cycle of poverty—starting with ensuring their youngest members are fed.

Kids’ Meals delivers over 9,000 meals daily to preschoolers, and during the summer, that number nearly doubles to include older siblings who are also out of school. Between April and June, the organization aims to deliver over 900,000 meals, each including a sandwich, snack, and a 100% juice box. Donations from Crest Management’s communities play a crucial role in achieving that goal.

Crest Management was honored in 2024 as the Large Team Champion, collecting over 240,000 juice boxes during last year’s campaign. With the bar set high, this year’s effort seeks to exceed that milestone and further support Houston’s youngest and most vulnerable residents.

“Our neighborhoods always come through in a big way,” said Hummel. “We’re proud to help connect our residents to a cause that directly impacts children right here in Houston.”

Juice boxes must be 100% juice—not pouches or sugar-filled alternatives—and can be dropped off at Crest Management’s office, located at 17171 Park Row, Suite 310, Houston, TX 77084. For large donations exceeding 2,000 juice boxes, Kids’ Meals can arrange pickup with advance notice and volunteer support.
