The Copperfield Dolphins Swim Team made a splash in the community for a meaningful cause this holiday season, hosting a food drive in support of Cy-Hope, a local nonprofit dedicated to bringing hope to underserved children across Cy-Fair ISD and beyond. The event took place on Sunday, December 7th at Park Falls Park, where swim team families came together to donate shelf-stable food items, all with one goal: to make sure their neighbors have food on the table this Christmas.

Organized by the Dolphins, the food drive was a visible reminder of the community’s heart. "Thank you Copperfield Dolphins Swim Team for organizing a food drive on behalf of Cy-Hope!" Cy-Hope shared on social media. "We're so overwhelmed with gratitude for all the organizations, big and small, that have stepped up this holiday season to make sure their neighbors have food on the table!"

While the food drive was a success, the giving doesn’t have to stop there.

For those who didn’t get a chance to donate or who want to do more, Cy-Hope is continuing its efforts to support local families in need through its Holiday Hope Christmas Assistance Program. Just a few days ago, Cy-Hope added 20 new children to their list—primarily pre-teens and teens—who still need a sponsor to help make their Christmas a little brighter.

Community members can sign up to “adopt” a child by shopping for clothing, shoes, and gifts from their wish list. The suggested budget is $75–$100 per child, and all gifts can be dropped off directly at Cy-Hope’s center at 12715 Telge Rd., Cypress, TX 77429. Drop-off days are December 10 through December 12, from 9 AM to 5 PM.

For those short on time or looking for a simpler way to give, Cy-Hope also offers an Amazon Wish List where donors can purchase items that ship directly to the nonprofit. These gifts are used to create packages for children added last-minute or who don’t yet have a direct sponsor. 

Founded in 2010, Cy-Hope works tirelessly to make life better for students across Cy-Fair ISD by supporting food security, counseling, educational enrichment, and much more. Through partnerships with local schools and generous donors, the organization is a critical lifeline for many families, especially during the holidays.

Whether it's a bag of groceries or a new set of pajamas, every donation this season helps a local child feel seen, supported, and celebrated. And thanks to efforts like those of the Copperfield Dolphins Swim Team, the ripple effect of generosity is being felt all across the community.
