Copper GroveResidents Invited to Join Cy-Falls High School Band Flag Program

August 01 2024

Cy-Falls High School is excited to continue its CyFalls Flags program, offering Copper Grove residents a unique way to support the band while celebrating patriotic holidays. This popular program places American flags in the front yards of participating homes during six key holidays throughout the year, providing a visible tribute to our nation and helping to fund the band’s activities.

Program Highlights

  • Service and Support: Students and parents from the Cy-Falls High School Band place over 775 flags in the community on patriotic holidays. This initiative not only beautifies the neighborhood but also raises essential funds to support the band’s competitions and events.

  • Patriotic Holidays: The flags are displayed for six major holidays:

    • President’s Day (February)
    • Memorial Day (May)
    • Independence Day (July 4th)
    • Labor Day
    • Patriot’s Day (September 11th)
    • Veteran’s Day

  • Note that due to the proximity of Labor Day and Patriot’s Day, flags will remain displayed between these holidays. Flags will not be displayed in hazardous conditions.

  • Cost and Participation: For just $40 per year, each residence or business can have an American flag placed in their yard for each of the six holidays. If a household or business wishes to display multiple flags, each additional flag costs $40. Participants can join the program at any time during the year.

  • How to Join: Interested residents within the Cypress Falls High School attendance zone can sign up by contacting CyFalls Flags Chair, John Tompkins, at cyfallsflags@gmail.com.

The Cy-Falls Band Directors and Cypress Falls Band Boosters extend their heartfelt thanks to all subscribers and the dedicated volunteers who make this program possible. By participating, residents not only support the band but also contribute to a patriotic tradition that enriches the community.

For further information or to join the program, please reach out to John Tompkins, or visit the band's website for more information. Your support helps the band achieve its goals and continues a cherished community tradition.
