The Community Volunteer Fire Department, your local fire department, is excited to announce its Fire Safety Week Kickoff Event, inviting families in your neighborhood to participate in this informative and engaging gathering. This event is designed to enhance fire safety awareness and foster connections between residents and the dedicated firefighters who serve their community.

Highlights of the Fire Safety Week Kickoff Event

  • FREE Smoke Detectors: Families will have the opportunity to pick up a smoke detector (limited to one per family while supplies last) to help ensure their homes are equipped for safety.

  • Fire Extinguisher Training: Participants can practice using a fire extinguisher prop, gaining valuable hands-on experience that boosts confidence in emergency situations.

  • Essential First Aid Skills: The event will include training sessions that teach crucial first aid skills, equipping attendees with knowledge that could be vital in an emergency.

  • Emergency Preparedness Discussions: Residents will have the chance to chat with dispatchers from WestCom 911 about how to effectively prepare for emergencies and the best practices for calling 911.
