A Legacy of Community Support
The story of The Ballard House began in 2006, when Keller Williams Premier Realty in Katy responded to a call to "leave a legacy" by founding Cinco Charities, Inc. Initially, the organization aimed to provide temporary housing for families in need of medical accommodations. Over the years, through fundraising events and generous community support, Cinco Charities grew, eventually fulfilling its vision of building a dedicated hospitality house for families.
In 2013, that vision became a reality with the opening of The Ballard House, a 20,000-square-foot facility offering 40 suites, two full-service kitchens, a chapel, and much more, all designed to provide comfort and relief for families facing life-threatening illnesses. The house was named in honor of Erin Ballard, a cancer patient who was deeply moved by Cinco Charities' mission and donated one of her properties to expand its services. Erin’s gift, along with Monty Ballard’s support through The Ballard Foundation, made it possible for this community-driven initiative to continue helping families who are in need of a safe place to stay while receiving medical care in the Houston area.
