Comal County Residents Invited to Shape Future Road Improvements Through Summer Community Open Houses
As Comal County continues to experience rapid growth, local leaders are turning to residents for help in identifying transportation priorities that could shape the county’s future for years to come.
This summer, Comal County will host a series of Community Open Houses focused on road improvements, traffic safety, drainage infrastructure, mobility enhancements, and railroad crossing projects. The initiative gives residents an opportunity to review potential projects, view maps and planning materials, and provide direct feedback before decisions are made.
For homeowners, commuters, business owners, and families, the conversations could influence how the county addresses increasing traffic volumes, roadway safety concerns, drainage challenges, and transportation needs tied to continued population growth.
Why These Meetings Matter to Comal County Residents
Roadways, intersections, and drainage systems play a critical role in daily life across Comal County. Whether residents are navigating growing traffic in New Braunfels, traveling through Canyon Lake, commuting from Garden Ridge, or driving through Bulverde and Spring Branch, transportation infrastructure affects safety, travel times, economic development, and quality of life.
County officials are currently evaluating future projects designed to improve intersections, address drainage concerns, enhance roadway mobility, and improve railroad crossings. Community feedback will help guide which projects move forward and how future transportation investments are prioritized.
Rather than presenting finalized plans, the county is seeking input early in the process, giving residents an opportunity to help shape future decisions.

What Happens Next?
As Comal County continues to grow, transportation planning remains one of the county’s most significant challenges and opportunities. Input gathered during the open houses will help county leaders identify projects that best address current needs while preparing for future growth.
Residents who cannot attend in person will be able to review open house materials online through the Comal County Engineers Office website.
For additional information, visit the Comal County Engineers Office webpage at ComalCounty.gov/191/Engineers-Office or contact Robert Boyd, P.E., at 830-608-2090.
For many residents, these meetings offer a chance to do more than learn about future road projects—they provide an opportunity to help shape how Comal County grows, moves, and connects in the years ahead.
