Coco Bahía Latin Kitchen Brings a Taste of Honduras — and a Whole Lot of Heart — to Tomball

March 03 2026

For many Tomball residents, finding a restaurant that feels both new and deeply rooted in tradition is something special. That’s exactly what Coco Bahía Latin Kitchen is offering at its location along Tomball Parkway near Northpoint and Highway 249.

Since expanding to Tomball in late 2025, the authentic Honduran restaurant has been introducing local families to bold Latin American flavors, generous portions and a style of hospitality that feels more like visiting relatives than dining out. In a fast-growing community where new businesses are constantly arriving, Coco Bahía stands out by slowing things down and inviting guests to pull up a chair.

From Honduras to Houston — and Now Tomball

Coco Bahía was founded with a simple mission: to share the flavors and warmth of Honduras with the Houston area. Inspired by coastal traditions and cherished family recipes, every dish reflects heritage, authenticity and a deep sense of pride.

With an original Houston location on Veterans Memorial Drive, the restaurant’s move into Tomball means residents no longer have to travel far to experience traditional Honduran cuisine. Whether someone grew up eating baleadas and plantains or is trying Honduran food for the first time, the message is the same — you’re welcomed as family.

The interior is colorful and cozy, the atmosphere relaxed and family-friendly. It’s the kind of place where grandparents, parents and kids can all find something they love.

A First Impression That Stuck

Local food reviewer Nick Rama of Nick’s Local Eats recently visited the Tomball location to see what the buzz was about.

“I tried Coco Bahía Latin Kitchen - Tomball today, and it did not disappoint!” Rama shared.

He started with a classic pupusa — thick, handmade and filled with chicharrones and cheese — served alongside a traditional cabbage salad and house sauce.

“Fantastic, one of the very best made and tasty pupusas I have had in a long time!” he said.

From there, he ordered Pollo Con Tajadas, a beloved Honduran comfort dish featuring fried chicken served over sweet fried bananas with cabbage salad, pickled onions and house sauces.

“Perfectly cooked fried chicken, and it had all the textures and flavors,” he added.

For many diners, these dishes aren’t just meals — they’re memories. And for others, they’re a flavorful introduction to something new.

What Makes Honduran Food Special?

For Tomball residents searching for authentic Honduran food, Coco Bahía offers a menu rooted in everyday staples from Central America.

Baleadas — warm flour tortillas folded around refried beans, cheese, cream and often eggs or avocado — are a cornerstone of Honduran cuisine. Pupusas, another favorite, are handmade and served with traditional cabbage slaw. Sweet fried plantains frequently accompany meals, adding balance and richness.

Seafood also plays a major role, reflecting Honduras’ Caribbean coastline. The restaurant’s Honduran seafood soup features crab, shrimp, fish, yucca and plantains in a coconut-based broth that’s both hearty and comforting. Fish fillets topped with shrimp in coconut cream bring those coastal flavors to the table in a way that feels both home-style and celebratory.

Breakfast and brunch offerings include traditional plates with eggs, beans, plantains, avocado and handmade tortillas — the kind of meal that fuels a full day and brings families together before heading out.
