Coach Familia at Hubenak Elementary Launches Fundraiser with Apex Leadership Co. Obstacle Course

October 09 2024

Coach Familia, a fifth grade teacher at Joe Hubenak Elementary School in Lamar CISD, is inviting the community to participate in an exciting fundraising event to support the school's initiatives. The school is hosting the Apex Leadership Co. Obstacle Course as its major fundraiser this semester, aiming to raise $500 for a café remodel, bathroom beautification, and wall decals.

The Apex Leadership Co. program runs for two weeks, offering students a combination of leadership training and fitness challenges. During this time, students will engage in daily character lessons and earn awards while training for the obstacle course. Each student will complete as many laps as possible around the track, which includes six obstacles, in a 30-minute period. Most participants are expected to complete between 30 and 36 obstacles.

Currently, the class has raised $45 towards their goal of $500, and with just two days left in the fundraising effort, Coach Familia is encouraging residents to donate. She stated, "We’d love your support! Please consider making a donation to help us reach our goal. Every bit counts, even a dollar!"

Community members can support the initiative by donating here. Coach Familia appreciates any contributions to help make Hubenak Elementary an even better place for its students.
