City of Katy Announces April 2025 Tree Limb Pick-Up Schedule for Residents
The City of Katy Public Works Department has announced its upcoming quarterly tree limb pick-up service, scheduled to take place from Wednesday, April 2 through Friday, April 4, 2025. This citywide effort is part of an ongoing initiative to maintain clean neighborhoods and support responsible yard waste management for homeowners within Katy city limits.
Residents are encouraged to place their tree limbs curbside by 7:00 AM on Wednesday, April 2 to ensure timely collection. City crews from the Public Works Street Department will canvass neighborhoods over the three-day period until all areas have been serviced. Due to potential volume, pickup in certain neighborhoods may occur later in the day.
Curbside Limb Pick-Up Guidelines
To streamline the collection process and ensure safety, residents must follow these specific tree limb preparation requirements:
-
Diameter: Limbs must be between 2 inches and 6 inches in diameter.
-
Length: Limbs should measure no shorter than 6 feet and no longer than 12 feet.
-
Placement: All limbs must be placed on the lawn near the curb, not in the street or roadway.
-
Obstructions: Limbs should not be placed near water meters, gas meters, mailboxes, utility poles, or fire hydrants.
Tree limbs that do not meet these size and placement guidelines will not be collected. In addition, this service does not include pick-up of household garbage, furniture, scrap metal, appliances, car parts, building debris, or other miscellaneous refuse.
