Citizens for Animal Protection's Winter Camp Offers Kids a Chance to Learn and Have Fun Over the Holidays

December 05 2024

Are your kids looking for something exciting and educational to do during the holiday break? The Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) Winter Camp provides a fantastic opportunity to engage children in meaningful activities while also promoting kindness and empathy towards animals. This year, CAP is offering two special camp sessions for children of different age groups, designed to inspire creativity and teach important values about animal care.

The first session, Artistic Animals, will take place on December 26-27, 2024, for children aged 6-9 years old. The second session, All About CAP, will be held on January 2-3, 2025, for kids aged 10-12. Both sessions run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, offering a full day of interactive learning, crafts, and fun. The camps aim to instill the values of humane treatment, compassion, and respect for animals—skills that children can carry with them for a lifetime.

Freddy Cruz, a representative for CAP, shared his excitement for the camp, stating, "These camps offer a great opportunity for kids to learn about humane care for animals, as well as our shelter. It’s a way for them to connect with the animals we care for, understand what we do, and become more empathetic towards all living beings." The camps are designed not only to entertain but also to educate children on responsible pet ownership and the importance of kindness towards animals.

CAP, founded in 1972, is a well-known non-profit organization that has been dedicated to rescuing, sheltering, and placing homeless animals for adoption. Through its various programs, CAP advocates for the humane treatment of animals and works to prevent cruelty. The organization offers a wide range of services, including pet adoption, spaying and neutering, pet care counseling, and a feral cat assistance program. CAP's focus is on educating the public, especially younger generations, to foster respect and compassion for animals.

The CAP Winter Camp is just one example of the organization’s commitment to humane education. The camp serves as a hands-on experience for children to learn about the animals CAP cares for, and the work the shelter does to support them. The camp’s activities will allow children to express their creativity through art and craft projects centered around animals while learning about the daily operations of the shelter, including the care and needs of the pets there.

Space for the Winter Camp is limited to just 20 spots per session, making it an exclusive and focused opportunity for children to have a meaningful experience. The cost to enroll is $150 per child, with a 10% discount available for Kids Club members. Registration closes on December 19, 2024, so parents are encouraged to sign up soon by contacting CAP at educationevents@cap4pets.org.

This holiday season, why not provide your child with the gift of compassion, creativity, and a deeper understanding of animal care? The CAP Winter Camp offers an exciting, educational, and rewarding experience for kids, while also supporting the important mission of Citizens for Animal Protection.
