For Canyon Gate at Cinco Ranch residents, a change is coming to the community’s gate security operations — and taking care of a few details ahead of time could make the transition much easier when October arrives.

Canyon Gate at Cinco Ranch HOA President Hugh Durlam announced that the community will begin working with a new security company on Oct. 1, part of an effort to improve the overall experience at the neighborhood’s gated entrances.

Between now and then, residents are being asked to make sure their household and vehicle information is current, confirm that their EZ Tag is working properly and begin using the designated resident lane every time they enter the community.

The goal is simple: fewer avoidable delays at the gate and a smoother transition for residents, visitors and the incoming security team.

Canyon Gate Residents Should Update Vehicle Information Now

One of the most important steps residents can take before Oct. 1 is making sure the HOA has updated information for every vehicle associated with their household.

Resident and vehicle records will continue to be managed through Gate Sentry, the community’s existing gate-access system.

Residents who have not already done so should download the Gate Sentry app and register their account. Anyone who needs assistance setting up a login can contact the Canyon Gate at Cinco Ranch property management team for help.

Taking care of those records before the new security company takes over should help reduce questions or access problems during the early days of the transition.

Having Trouble With Your EZ Tag? Don’t Wait Until October

Residents experiencing problems with their EZ Tag are encouraged to visit the clubhouse and speak with the property management staff before the security change takes effect.

Addressing those issues now is especially important because the HOA is asking residents to consistently use the designated resident lane when entering Canyon Gate at Cinco Ranch.

Residents who need an EZ Tag can purchase one from the clubhouse for $25.

The HOA emphasized that using the resident lane can help keep vehicles moving more efficiently through the entrance — particularly during higher-traffic times when several residents and visitors may arrive at once.

Guests Will Need to Have Identification Ready

Residents can also help prevent backups by giving visitors a heads-up before they arrive.

Guests entering Canyon Gate should be prepared to show identification to security personnel at the gate each time they visit.

Letting friends, relatives, service providers and other visitors know about that requirement ahead of time can help keep the check-in process moving rather than having guests search for identification after reaching the guardhouse.

According to Durlam’s update, the transition follows feedback the HOA has received from residents about gate and security operations.

The HOA acknowledged that changes involving neighborhood access can take some adjustment, particularly during the first several weeks as residents, management staff and a new security team become familiar with updated procedures.
