Bud Light and Silver Eagle Distributors Donate $10,000 to Folds of Honor at Sugar Land Space Cowboys Game
At a recent Sugar Land Space Cowboys game at Constellation Field, two unexpected players stepped up to the plate. Bud Light and Silver Eagle Distributors Houston didn't come to compete, though – they presented a generous gift of $10,000 to Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational scholarships to families of military service members who have fallen or been disabled. The contribution will fund two $5,000 scholarships for local military members and their families.
Recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Folds of Honor is on mission to honor the sacrifice of America's heroes by educating their legacy. Each year, between February 1 and March 31, the organization opens its annual scholarship application window.
These scholarships contribute to the unmet need - the portion of tuition, fees, housing, meal plans, and textbooks that aren't covered by other sources of financial aid, for dependents and/or spouses of US service members and first responders. While there are certain restrictions on expenses covered, such as off-campus and Greek housing, the versatile scholarships offered can range from private school tuition and tutoring, to college, technical or trade school, and even post-graduate work.
In addition to supporting military families, Folds of Honor also extends its support to the dependents and spouses of first responders who have tragically fallen or been catastrophically injured in the line of duty. Just as with their military counterparts, these educational scholarships come with their own specific eligibility requirements and categories.
Thanks to generous donations like the recent $10,000 given by Bud Light and Silver Eagle Distributors Houston, Folds of Honor continues to fulfill its mission. Yet, the battle doesn't stop there. The organization invites anyone interested in joining their cause to learn more, and if eligible, to apply for scholarships during the next round. With the help of community partners and donors, Folds of Honor is steadfast in honoring the folded flags of our heroes and supporting their legacy through education. Learn more at foldsofhonor.org.
