Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, Cy Woods Bands End Season at State Contest

The Bridgeland, Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods high school marching bands wrapped up a successful season at the UIL Class 6A State Marching Band Championship on Nov. 7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
The Bridgeland High School marching band competed for the third consecutive time at the UIL Class 6A Marching Band State Championship on Nov. 7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
All three bands competed at the state contest after placing among the top five at the UIL Area I Marching Band Contest on Oct. 29 at the Berry Center. The 2022 state contest marked the third consecutive state bids for Bridgeland and Cypress Woods and the fourth overall appearance for the Cypress Woods program. Cy-Fair competed for the sixth time in program history at the state championship after being named the 2022 Area I Marching Contest grand champion.
The Cy-Fair High School marching band competed at the UIL Class 6A Marching Band State Championship on Nov. 7 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The 2022 contest marked the Bobcats’ sixth overall appearance at the state contest.
“We couldn’t be more proud of our CFISD bands that performed here in San Antonio at the UIL state championships,” said John Morrison, director of fine arts. “There is no doubt that the entire CFISD community was able to celebrate three fantastic performances by our Bridgeland, Cy-Fair and Cypress Woods bands. Seeing the joy from the students, staff, parent volunteers and administrators following each school’s performance was inspiring.”
