Bear Creek Barracudas Swim Team 2025 Registration Now Open
The Bear Creek Barracudas Swim Team (BCST) is excited to announce that registration for the 2025 summer swim season is now open. As a community-based, family-oriented swim team, the Barracudas provide swimmers ages 5-18 with a fun yet competitive environment to develop their swimming skills, build confidence, and enjoy team spirit.
Why Join the Bear Creek Barracudas?
For over 25 years, the Bear Creek Barracudas have helped young athletes improve their swimming skills while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. As a member of the Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL), the team competes in summer swim meets and welcomes swimmers from Bear Creek and surrounding neighborhoods without an NWAL team.

Swim Season & Practice Details
The 2025 swim season runs from mid-April through June, with daily practices held at the Bear Creek Barracudas Pool (Whitman Pool), located at 15918 Boulder Oaks Dr, Houston, TX 77084. Swimmers will practice five days a week to develop stroke techniques, starts, finishes, and race endurance.

Bear Creek Fish School – Intro to Swim Team
For new swimmers looking to build confidence before joining the full team, the Bear Creek Fish School offers a one-week training course focusing on stroke techniques, dives, starts, and finishes. At the end of the week, swimmers will undergo an evaluation before joining the team.

Volunteer Requirements & Parent Involvement
The Bear Creek Barracudas Swim Team is a parent-run volunteer organization, with coaches being the only paid staff. To ensure a smooth and successful season, all families are required to volunteer at meets or assist with team operations.

Every family must earn volunteer points throughout the season.

A volunteer deposit is required but will be refunded once points are earned.

New Parent Meeting will be held before the start of the season.
Team Gear & Swimwear
Swimmers are encouraged to wear team colors (black and green) and purchase a team competition suit. While not required, having the proper swim gear enhances performance and team unity.
