Baskin-Robbins Coming to New Caney Marketplace with New Ice Cream Shop Build-Out Planned

April 24 2026

A new ice cream option is on the way for New Caney residents, as plans move forward to bring a Baskin-Robbins to the Marketplace Drive corridor—an area many families already rely on for shopping and dining.

According to official project filings, the new Baskin-Robbins shop will be located at 21580 Marketplace Drive in New Caney, TX 77357 in Valley Ranch Town Center. Construction is expected to begin September 1, 2026, with completion anticipated by September 1, 2027. The privately funded project carries an estimated cost of $198,000 and will transform approximately 1,398 square feet into a dedicated dessert destination.

A New Addition to a Growing Retail Hub in New Caney

For residents living in and around New Caney, the Marketplace area continues to evolve into a convenient, close-to-home destination. The addition of Baskin-Robbins reflects a broader pattern many in Montgomery County are noticing—existing retail spaces being repurposed to bring in recognizable, in-demand brands.

Rather than building from the ground up, this type of renovation allows businesses to move into established areas more quickly, helping fill gaps in everyday options for local families.

In practical terms, that means one more nearby place for after-school treats, weekend outings, or last-minute birthday cakes—without needing to leave the community.

From “31 Flavors” to a Global Favorite

Baskin-Robbins has built its reputation on variety and consistency. Founded in 1945 by Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins, the brand introduced the idea of offering “31 flavors,” giving customers a different choice for every day of the month—something that was considered unique at the time.

Today, Baskin-Robbins operates thousands of locations across the United States and in more than 50 countries worldwide. Despite that global footprint, the experience has remained simple and familiar: a neighborhood ice cream shop where families gather.

The menu continues to be a big part of that appeal. Alongside longtime favorites like Mint Chocolate Chip, Pralines ‘n Cream, and Jamoca Almond Fudge, the brand regularly rotates seasonal flavors and limited-time offerings. Ice cream cakes, customizable desserts, milkshakes, and sundaes also make it a go-to for celebrations and special occasions.

What Residents Can Expect Next

The project is still in the early stages, with construction set for 2026. As plans progress, more details may emerge about the shop’s design, opening timeline, and any potential hiring opportunities ahead of launch.

New Caney continues to grow in ways that reflect everyday life—adding places where families can connect, celebrate, and build routines. And soon, that will include a fresh scoop from Baskin-Robbins close to the neighborhood.
