American Legion Post 164 Katy to Sell Fireworks in Katy While Supporting Veterans and Youth

June 27 2024

As the sky lights up with the vibrant colors and explosive sounds synonymous with the Fourth of July, we celebrate more than just our nation's independence. It's a moment of patriotism and pride, a tribute to the countless service members who've secured our freedom since that pivotal day in 1777.

The American Legion Post 164 Katy is once again providing Katy-area residents the opportunity to celebrate Independence Day with gusto through their fireworks stand while supporting a worthy cause — our veterans and youth.

With the support of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 164, the Legion Rider of Post 164, and the Post's namesake, Jonathan D. Rozier, the American Legion Post plans to keep this tradition alive. This year's sales started on June 24 and will run through midnight on July 4. See the schedule below for the stand's operational hours.

June 24 - 27 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM
June 28 - 30 Noon - 10:00 PM
July 1 - 4 Noon - Midnight

This event, operated by members of the American Legion Post 164, the Post Auxiliary, the Sons of the American Legion, and the Legion Riders group, will also involve older youth from Scouts sponsored by the American Legion Post 164 Katy, and other youth from past and current state programs.

The purchase of your fireworks not only adds dazzle to your Fourth of July celebrations but also fuels an array of youth and veterans' support programs. From the Post's Boy's and Girl's State program to the PTSD Support Group, Camp Hope, Boy Scouts, Oratorical, and even grants for local veterans in need of assistance — every sparkler, fountain, or rocket sold brings hope and assistance to those who need it most.

The American Legion Post 164 Katy acknowledges your support and invites all to contribute towards these causes throughout the year. For more ways to support our local veterans or for more details about this initiative, please visit legionpost164katytx.org

Let this year's Fourth of July celebrations be more than just a display of patriotism - support veterans and youth while making memories with your loved ones.
