ACE Hardware Coming to Brookshire as Region Becomes One of Houston’s Hottest Housing Markets

November 12 2025

With more families flocking to Brookshire for affordable new homes and wide-open opportunity, a trusted neighborhood name is getting ready to open its doors. ACE Hardware will soon break ground on a new 20,000-square-foot store at 603 FM 359, bringing locally owned, community-focused home improvement services to one of the Greater Houston area’s fastest-growing suburbs.

Construction on the new store—registered as Hometown Hardware—is set to begin in early December 2025, with a target completion for late August 2026, according to official permit filings. The project, valued at $3 million, will include not just a hardware retail space but also a lumber shed and laydown yard to better serve both DIYers and contractors in the region.

Brookshire’s Boom: More Than a Small Town

Brookshire’s transformation has not gone unnoticed. According to two recent Houston Association of Realtors (HAR.com) reports, the community ranked as one of the hottest housing markets in the entire Houston metro area for both the second and third quarters of 2025. With a 122.7% year-over-year increase in home sales in Q2 and a 62.2% increase in Q3, Brookshire continues to be a magnet for homebuyers seeking value and space without sacrificing access to urban amenities.

“Buyers are increasingly willing to look a bit farther out if it means they can get more house, more yard, and more value,” said HAR Chair Shae Cottar of LPT Realty.

The average home in Brookshire now sells for just over $306,000 and spends fewer than 40 days on the market—well below the Houston metro average in both price and listing time. New construction drives much of that growth, thanks to the arrival of major master-planned communities like Bluestem by The Signorelli Company, which offers modern homes, parks, and connectivity to I-10 and employment centers.

Why ACE Hardware in Brookshire

ACE Hardware's decision to establish a location in Brookshire reflects the area's rapid evolution from a quiet rural town to a thriving residential hub. As thousands of new homes are added across the Waller County region—many within minutes of downtown Brookshire—the demand for convenient home improvement services is climbing alongside it.

New communities like Bluestem, La Segarra, Sunterra Lakes, and Mirabella are drawing families and first-time buyers who will need everything from tools and paint to yard equipment and hardware supplies. ACE’s proximity to these neighborhoods will allow new homeowners to skip long drives to big-box retailers in Katy or Cypress.

And that’s precisely what sets ACE apart.

A Local Hardware Experience in a Big-Growth Region

Founded in 1924, ACE Hardware operates more than 5,800 independently owned stores worldwide, with a business model rooted in local ownership and personalized customer service. Unlike larger chains, ACE stores are built to reflect the unique needs of the communities they serve. That’s why the Brookshire location will be more than just a store—it will be a neighborhood resource.

Nearby locations in Katy and Fulshear—including ACE Hardware in Cinco Ranch and Fulshear—have built strong reputations for knowledgeable staff, fast service, and product selection tailored to area residents. Brookshire’s Hometown Hardware is expected to follow that same path, bringing locally focused service to match the town’s expanding needs.

Shoppers can expect everything from tools, paint, and garden supplies to everyday essentials like key cutting, propane refills, and lumber yard materials. Whether fixing a fence, upgrading a kitchen, or prepping a backyard, residents will soon have a reliable option close to home.

A Region on the Rise

The arrival of ACE Hardware is one of many signals that Brookshire is not just growing—it’s thriving. With commercial developments, industrial projects, and new infrastructure supporting the area’s rise, Brookshire continues to attract both homebuyers and investors.

Brookshire’s sister city to the north, Waller, also continues its ascent. In fact, Waller ranked #1 on HAR’s list of the Hottest Communities in Q3, seeing a 94.6% year-over-year increase in sales—85% of which were new construction. With projects like Beacon Hill leading commercial and residential development and even major healthcare investment from Memorial Hermann, Waller and Brookshire are anchoring the westward expansion of Greater Houston.

Looking Ahead

If all goes to plan, by summer 2026, Brookshire’s Hometown Hardware will be ready to serve a community on the move—offering not only goods and services, but also the spirit of neighborly help that defines the ACE brand. As new families settle into nearby master-planned neighborhoods, they’ll find Hometown Hardware ready to welcome them with the tools, support, and friendly service they need to feel right at home.

As Brookshire builds toward its future, this addition marks another step in shaping a community full of possibility, promise, and local pride.
