A Lasting Legacy: Williamsburg Settlement Honors Long-Time HOA Board Member Dave Ellis with Clubhouse Naming
Editor's Note: This content is written by Sachie Etherington with the Williamsburg Settlement HOA and was submitted to My Neighborhood News.
The Williamsburg Settlement is a wonderful community North of I-10 in Katy, Texas. The main constants in the community are the tall pines and oaks, the beautifully maintained homes, and a resident and HOA Board Member, Secretary/Treasurer named Dave Ellis. On June 13th, 2026, friends, family members, and residents of the Williamsburg Settlement gathered to thank and celebrate Dave as the Clubhouse at 1602 Hoyt Lane was officially named the “Dave Ellis Clubhouse.”
For those who don’t know him, Dave Ellis, is a tall and slender gentleman, who wears glasses and has a noticeable Welsh accent despite living in the US for over 60 years. In the mornings, you can often catch him briskly walking the perimeter streets of the neighborhood and cutting across Hoyt to check in on the Clubhouse.
Dave has vast amounts of experience and institutional knowledge regarding the neighborhood (more than 20 years on the WSMA Board), which is invaluable when making decisions for the community. A natural problem solver, Dave is often one of the first people residents reach out to when they have a question or an issue.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Dave’s family, members of the community, as well as the Crest Management team who came to celebrate his years of service and the naming of the clubhouse in his honor. Special thanks to residents Ana Castillo of Acastillo Events for providing a treats table for the event and Jeana Rhodes (1st place winner), Heather Colkos (2nd place winner), and James Kelley (3rd place) for the wonderful bowls of chili.
