7 Brew Coffee Is Coming to Elgin, Bringing Its Fast-Growing Drive-Thru Concept to Highway 290

Homestead Estates  /   Katy / Fulshear
September 16 2026

Elgin’s growing Highway 290 corridor is getting another familiar name, this time with a decidedly caffeinated twist.

A new 7 Brew Coffee drive-thru is under development at 1111 W. Highway 290 in Elgin, according to a Texas construction filing. The project calls for a new 510-square-foot coffee stand, adding the rapidly growing drive-thru brand to one of the city’s busiest commercial stretches.

The approximately $400,000 privately funded project is scheduled for construction between Aug. 24 and Nov. 30, 2026, according to the filing. The scope is listed simply as new construction for a coffee drive-thru.

For Elgin residents, the project adds another quick-service option along Highway 290 at a time when both residential and commercial development continue to reshape the area. For commuters heading toward Austin, families running errands and workers crossing town, 7 Brew’s entire concept is built around one thing: getting a highly customized drink without getting out of the car.

An official opening date has not yet been announced.

What Is 7 Brew Coffee?

For anyone who has seen 7 Brew’s small, brightly branded stands appearing around Texas and wondered what all the traffic is about, the company is a relatively young coffee chain that has grown at a remarkable pace.

7 Brew was founded in Northwest Arkansas in 2017, beginning with a drive-thru model centered on speed, friendly service and drinks customers could customize extensively. By 2020, the company had grown to seven stands, and the business was acquired by Brew Culture LLC that January.

Growth accelerated from there.

The company says it has expanded from just 38 stands in January 2023 to more than 800 locations across 38 states, supported by more than 45,000 employees it calls its “Brew Crew.” 7 Brew says its stands now serve more than 1 million drinks per day.

Texas has become a major part of that expansion. As of September 2026, 7 Brew’s official location directory lists 126 Texas stands, stretching from Houston and San Antonio to Tyler, Lubbock, Corpus Christi, El Paso and numerous smaller communities.

That statewide footprint also shows how the brand has pushed beyond major metropolitan areas. Texas locations can now be found in communities including Huntsville, Cleveland, Livingston, Magnolia, Seguin, Brownwood, Bay City and Mount Pleasant, making Elgin a natural fit with the company’s broader expansion strategy.

It Is Coffee, but the Menu Goes Well Beyond Coffee

The name may say coffee, but that only tells part of the story.

7 Brew’s menu includes traditional coffeehouse drinks such as lattes, mochas, breves and caramel macchiatos, along with its signature 7 Originals. Those include drinks such as the Blondie, made with caramel and vanilla; the Brunette, featuring hazelnut and caramel mocha flavors; and the Cinnamon Roll, which combines brown sugar cinnamon and white chocolate.

The menu also includes 7 Energy drinks, flavored 7 Fizz sodas, teas, chai, matcha, lemonades, smoothies and shakes.

Customization is a major part of the business model. Customers can adjust sweetness, add flavors, choose alternative milks including oat, almond and coconut, add espresso shots, cold foam, whipped cream or flavored drizzles and make many drinks sugar-free or caffeine-free.

7 Brew says those options result in more than 20,000 possible drink combinations.

That also means the Elgin location will not be aimed exclusively at traditional coffee drinkers. Smoothies, lemonades, shakes and caffeine-free fizz drinks give families and younger customers plenty of options, while the company’s customizable 7 Energy line has become another prominent part of its menu.

A Different Kind of Coffee Shop Experience

Residents should not expect the new Elgin 7 Brew to look much like a traditional sit-down café.

The planned building is only 510 square feet, reflecting the brand’s compact drive-thru model rather than a large dining room filled with tables and chairs. The emphasis is on cars moving through efficiently while employees take orders and interact with customers outside.

That format has become a defining feature of 7 Brew.

The company describes its approach around three ideas — speed, customization and personal interaction — with double drive-thru lanes designed to keep customers moving while employees take orders directly.

It is also one reason such a small building can support a much larger volume of customers than its square footage might suggest.

For a location along West Highway 290, that model is particularly suited to people who are already on the road, whether they are headed toward Austin, driving to work, taking children to school or squeezing in a coffee stop between errands.

7 Brew Continues Expanding Across Texas

Elgin will join a steadily growing network of 7 Brew locations around the state.

The company’s official directory currently lists locations in more than 100 Texas communities and 126 stands statewide, including two in Houston, two in Conroe, four in San Antonio, five in Tyler and multiple locations across Midland, Odessa, Corpus Christi and other markets.

The Texas growth mirrors the company’s national expansion. 7 Brew now describes itself as an 800-plus-location brand, a striking change for a company that had only seven stands six years ago.

Its expansion also arrives as drive-thru-focused beverage businesses continue competing for commuters and younger customers who increasingly want customizable coffees, energy drinks and specialty beverages without the longer stop associated with a traditional café.

What Happens Next for 7 Brew in Elgin?

According to the state filing, construction at 1111 W. Highway 290 is expected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2026. That date represents an estimated construction timeline, however, and should not be interpreted as a confirmed opening date.

7 Brew has not publicly announced when the Elgin location will begin serving customers.

Once it does, the small drive-thru stand will represent another addition to a Highway 290 corridor that increasingly reflects Elgin’s growth — not through one massive development, but through a steady accumulation of restaurants, retailers, services and other businesses following new rooftops and increased traffic into the community.

And for residents who already know exactly how they order their Blondie, 7 Energy or iced breve, the nearest 7 Brew run is about to get considerably shorter.
