2026 Cy-Fair ISD Livestock Show & Sale Set for February 5–7: Honoring Students, Supporting Agriculture, and Giving Back
The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District is preparing for one of its most anticipated annual events—the 2026 CFISD Livestock Show & Sale, taking place February 5–7 at the CFISD Exhibit Center on Telge Road. For over three decades, this event has connected local students, families, and community supporters through agriculture, education, and giving back.
Organized by the CFISD Livestock Show Association (LSA), the three-day show brings together Future Farmers of America (FFA) students from across the district who have dedicated months to raising animals and preparing agriculture-related projects. The event gives these students the opportunity to showcase their skills and earn funding that supports their future educational or agricultural goals.
Event Schedule and Highlights
Judging takes place Wednesday and Thursday, February 5–6, with student participants exhibiting rabbits, broilers, turkeys, lambs, goats, swine, steers, and more, alongside projects in horticulture and ag mechanics.
Saturday, February 7, is sale day, featuring:
- 9:00 AM – Freezer Sale & Silent Auction
- 11:00 AM – Buyers’ Luncheon at Arnold Middle School (shuttles available)
- 1:00 PM – Premium Sale / Live Auction
Buyers can register on-site and participate in both the live auction and fixed-price Freezer Sale. Silent auction items include ag mechanics builds and horticulture pieces, offering unique and handcrafted goods created by CFISD students.
Supporting Students—and Feeding Families
The CFISD Livestock Show is more than a fundraising opportunity for students. Through an effort called the John Fox Chamber Herd, the impact of this event extends into the greater Cypress community. Founded by the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce 40 years ago, the initiative purchases select student-raised animals, has the meat processed, and donates it to local ministries and nonprofit organizations. Past recipients have included Cy-Fair Helping Hands, Cypress Assistance Ministries, and the Boys and Girls Club.
In honor of the Chamber’s 40th anniversary this year, the John Fox Chamber Herd has set an ambitious new goal—to raise $40,000 for community food donations. Every dollar contributed helps support student efforts and puts food on the tables of local families in need.

Building Leaders Through Agriculture: The Legacy of CFISD FFA
The National FFA Organization (formerly Future Farmers of America) is dedicated to preparing students for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. Through hands-on learning, project-based work, and community engagement, FFA helps students grow their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.
In Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, the FFA program has a long-standing tradition of excellence and opportunity. With chapters across all high schools in the district, CFISD’s FFA students participate in a wide range of agricultural disciplines—raising livestock, cultivating plants, welding, constructing ag mechanics projects, and competing in leadership development events.
Over the decades, CFISD FFA has become one of the largest and most respected programs in the state, producing state and national competitors, scholarship recipients, and future agricultural professionals. The annual Livestock Show & Sale is a capstone event that reflects this legacy, giving students a platform to showcase their work and be rewarded for their dedication.
How to Participate as a Buyer
You don’t need to preregister—buyers are welcome to sign up at the event. Whether bidding during the live auction, purchasing animals through the Freezer Sale, or donating directly to students through “add-on” gifts, community members can engage in multiple ways.
Freezer Sale Prices (Set Price Purchases):
- Broilers (5) – $150
- Turkeys (1) – $150
- Rabbits (3) – $150
- Goats & Lambs – $400 each
- Swine – $450 each
- Steers – $3/lb
Purchases may be eligible for tax deductions, and animals can be donated to charitable organizations. Students and designated processors will coordinate delivery or processing details following the event.
To support student participants, CFISD retains only a 10% commission on sales and donations—the rest goes directly to the students. Sponsorships help offset the costs of running the event and ensure this commission rate remains low despite rising expenses.

A Cypress Tradition Worth Supporting
Last year’s CFISD Livestock Show raised over $625,000, with buyers, sponsors, and donors helping students across the district reach their goals. This year, the district hopes to continue that momentum—and broaden the community impact through expanded charitable donations.
Whether you’re a returning buyer, a first-time attendee, or a local business looking to give back, the 2026 CFISD Livestock Show & Sale is a meaningful way to support local students while strengthening ties throughout the Cy-Fair area.
