2024 Westlake Fire Department Junior Fire Academy Registration Now Open

Local youth are invited to experience the excitement of firefighting firsthand at the 2024 Westlake Fire Department Junior Fire Academy!

This 5-day camp, conducted by the Westlake Fire Department and community agencies, offers children aged 12 to 15 an immersive learning experience in firefighting and emergency medical services (EMS). The academy focuses on instilling teamwork, responsibility, and leadership skills while engaging participants in thrilling hands-on activities. From touring the fire station and apparatus to mastering fire extinguisher techniques, learning CPR, and participating in mock search and rescue drills, children will gain valuable insights into the world of firefighting.

The academy runs from July 22nd to July 26th, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Westlake Fire Department, located at 19636 Saums Rd, Houston, TX 77084. The cost of enrollment is $90, which includes lunch, snacks, two academy t-shirts, shorts, and take-home items from each day. Priority access is given to children residing within the Westlake service district, your local fire department.
