World Car Auto Group to Build New Hyundai and Genesis Dealerships in San Antonio by 2028
San Antonio’s growing automotive scene is set to welcome two brand-new additions from World Car Auto Group, a well-established dealer network across South Texas. The company has announced plans to build standalone Hyundai and Genesis dealerships at a new development site located at 7231 N Loop 1604 E in Bexar County.
Construction on both facilities is scheduled to begin on November 1, 2026, with completion targeted for June 1, 2028.
The new World Car Hyundai dealership will span nearly 50,000 square feet and is estimated to cost $13.5 million. It will include modern showroom space, a high-tech service center, and customer amenities designed for comfort and efficiency.
Next door, the World Car Genesis facility—valued at $9 million—will offer 30,402 square feet of dedicated space for the luxury automaker. The move reflects Genesis’ strategic separation from its Hyundai roots and ongoing development as a premium standalone brand.
Both dealerships will feature full-service offerings, including sales, service, and parts departments, as well as thoughtfully designed waiting areas to enhance the overall customer experience.
Hyundai and Genesis: A Shared Origin, Diverging Paths
While Genesis was originally the luxury division of Hyundai Motor Company, the brand has since evolved into its own global entity, akin to Toyota's Lexus or Honda's Acura. In recent years, Genesis has been expanding its presence with distinct dealerships and branding, including in San Antonio.
