Wings ’N More Express Opens in Cypress, Bringing a Texas Wing Tradition to Barker Cypress Road Near Berry Center
For Cypress residents, the wait is over. Wings ’N More Express has officially opened its doors at 8722 Barker Cypress Road, giving local families, students, and wing lovers a new place to enjoy one of Texas’ most recognizable wing brands without leaving the community.
Located in the former Zaxby’s building directly across from the Berry Center and just minutes from Lone Star College-CyFair, the new restaurant represents a significant investment in the area. State records show the project involved a $350,000 renovation of the existing 3,268-square-foot restaurant space, transforming it into the latest Wings ’N More Express location serving Northwest Harris County.
A Texas Restaurant Story More Than 40 Years in the Making
While the Cypress location is new, the Wings ’N More name has deep roots in Texas.
The company was founded in 1986 by former NFL player Mark Dennard, who spent seven seasons with the Miami Dolphins and two with the Philadelphia Eagles. During his football career, Dennard developed an appreciation for Buffalo-style chicken wings while living in Miami. At the time, quality wing restaurants were virtually nonexistent in Texas, inspiring him to bring the concept home after retiring from professional football.
What started as a single restaurant steadily grew into a Texas success story. Over the years, Wings ’N More earned recognition including "Best Wings Over Houston" and "Favorite Wings Restaurant in College Station," helping build a loyal following that continues today.
In 2008, the company expanded beyond its traditional restaurant-and-bar model by launching Wings ’N More Express, a fast-casual concept designed to offer the same menu favorites with quicker service and convenient drive-thru access. The Cypress location joins existing Express restaurants in Conroe, Bryan, and Corpus Christi.
What Diners Can Expect on the Menu
Wings remain the centerpiece of the menu, with customers able to choose from a variety of sauces ranging from Mild and Teriyaki to Hot, Extra Hot, Spicy BBQ, Hawaiian, Chipotle Honey Mustard, and Super Caliente. Diners can also customize their order with seasonings such as Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, Garlic, or Parmesan.
Among the restaurant’s signature offerings are Buffalo Wings, Boneless Buffalo Bites, Texas Tenders, and the popular Wing ’N Texas Tender Basket, which combines wings and hand-breaded chicken tenders with curly fries and dipping sauces.
For guests looking beyond wings, the menu stretches well into comfort-food territory. Honey-Glazed Baby Back Ribs, Wing ’N Rib Samplers, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, seafood baskets, catfish, shrimp, chicken fried steak, and grilled chicken entrées provide a variety of options for families with different tastes.
Appetizers also play a starring role, featuring favorites such as homemade onion rings, fried jalapeños, fried cheese sticks, Buffalo shrimp, pickle chips, Buffalo dip, and loaded Pulled Pork Nacho Fries.

Hours are Sunday through Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until midnight.
