Wilson ES, Cypress Families for Public Schools Establish Adopt-a-School Partnership

February 13 2023

Representatives from Cypress Families for Public Schools visited the staff at Wilson Elementary School on Feb. 2 to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnership with the campus.

CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community organizations and business partners to utilize resources of the community to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.

This is the first time Cypress Families for Public Schools has adopted a campus.

“Cypress Families for Public Schools believes in the power of public education,” said Cristina Mejia, Cypress Families for Public Schools communications director. “As communications director, I’m thrilled that we are adopting Wilson Elementary School where my two boys currently attend. Wilson is a warm campus filled with a dedicated and loving staff. We can’t wait to support them in this partnership.”

Lesley Guilmart, Cypress Families for Public Schools president, signs an Adopt-a-School partnership agreement after the community partner announced its official partnership with Wilson Elementary School on Feb. 2.

Kia Willis, Wilson principal, expressed her gratitude towards Cypress Families for Public Schools for the new partnership.

“We are thrilled to have Cypress Families for Public Schools adopt Wilson,” Willis said. “It’s such an honor to partner with a business full of former educators who recognize the hard work of our Wilson teachers and staff. The support we’ll receive from this adoption helps to validate the efforts of our staff, who give 100% to help our Wranglers reach their full potential. We are so grateful to Cypress Families for Public Schools and look forward to working with them!”
