Willowfork Fire Department and Fort Bend County ESD No. 2 Achieve Elite ISO Class 1 Fire Rating
The Willowfork Fire Department and Fort Bend County Emergency Services District 2 (ESD #2) have announced the attainment of an ISO Fire Service Suppression Rating of Class 1. This distinction, effective as of June 1, 2024, places them in an elite group of fire departments nationwide.
The Insurance Service Organization (ISO) awards this rating after a comprehensive evaluation of four key fire protection elements within the service area. These include the operations of the fire department, the community water supply, the emergency communications system, and the community risk reduction programs currently in place.
The ISO Fire Service Suppression Rating operates on a scale between 1 and 10, with 1 representing the highest possible grade. In this respect, the Class 1 designation exemplifies the topmost level of fire and emergency response capabilities.
Receiving and maintaining a Class 1 designation requires significant commitment from not just the Fire Department, but also the ESD Board of Directors and the community at large. As such, it speaks volumes about the dedication of the Willowfork Fire Department and Fort Bend County ESD #2 in providing the highest possible level of fire and emergency services to their service area.
This achievement may also bring a direct benefit to the residents of the communities they serve. Many insurance providers use the ISO grade as a basis for setting insurance premiums, meaning a higher rating could potentially lower annual homeowner’s insurance premiums for residents. Therefore, this achievement is not just a feather in the cap of the Willowfork Fire Department and Fort Bend ESD #2, but a win for residents too.
The Willowfork Fire Department proudly serves the neighborhoods of Cedar Heights, Pine Mill Ranch, Falcon Ranch, Parkway Oaks, Greenway Village, Cinco Ranch, Grayson Lakes, Mills Pointe, Katy Creek Ranch, Woodlake/Westlake, Seven Meadows, Hawks Landing, Silver Ranch, Lake Pointe Estates, Falcon Point, King Lakes, and Monterrey at Willowbend. Their continual strive for excellence in fire and emergency response is a testament to the unyielding commitment they have to the safety and well-being of their community.
