DISPOSING OF YARD WASTE RESPONSIBLY
As temperatures warm and homeowners begin to ready their yards for spring, remember to help keep storm drains and channels clean as well. Blowing lawn clippings in drains and dumping yard and other debris into drainage channels can cause buildup over time, clogging storm drains, obstructing drainage, contributing to flooding, and polluting waterways. Residents are responsible for keeping yard waste out of drains and channels, including work by a lawn service. Unauthorized dumping on District facilities, property, easements and rights of way is prohibited and "subject to a penalty up to $10,000" that "may result in a Class C misdemeanor," according to WFDD's rules and regulations. Your help in joining WFDD to keep our community clean is appreciated!
