West Houston Assistance Ministries in Urgent Need of Food Pantry Donations

February 04 2023

When the Resale Store was low on stock, West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) saw many people in the community come together to address that need. WHAM was overcome with joy when staff and volunteers walked into the store and saw so many new products in the space. When you drop off a donation, you are making a difference in our community.

Unfortunately, WHAM is undergoing another urgent need, this time at WHAM's food pantry. One of their main pantry suppliers is undergoing a shortage of dry and canned goods, and so that leads to WHAM also having a shortage. Without these goods, WHAM is unable to provide a variety of ingredients that would be necessary to create a healthy, balanced meal. If you have the time and the means, WHAM would greatly appreciate your contributions once again.

WHAM accepts donations on the following days and times:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays       (8:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

About West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM)

WHAM provides hope through the provision of social services to families and individuals in need without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin or disability. In fiscal year 2022, WHAM helped over 132,000 individuals of all ages and ethnicities, as they seek to rebound from a variety of crises.  Whether it’s by supplying for their basic needs through its platinum-ranked food pantry, financial assistance to avoid eviction or disconnection, employment and training to promote self-sufficiency, or other services like disaster relief and seasonal programs, WHAM’s offerings contribute to achieving our underlying goals: alleviating poverty, building a thriving and healthy community, and giving hope to the hopeless.
