Wells Elementary Fourth Grader Named Cy-Fair ISD Student of the Week

April 29 2025

At just 10 years old, Ben Morris, a fourth grade student at Wells Elementary School, is already being recognized for the energy, heart, and dedication he brings into the classroom and onto the soccer field. Honored as the CFISD Student of the Week, Ben is known among his teachers for being a hard-working, enthusiastic learner who consistently leads by example.

Whether he's tackling math problems, diving into an art project, or helping out a friend, Ben is motivated by a desire to do good—and to do it with joy.

“I want to change the world and make it a better place,” Ben shared, when asked what drives him.

Balancing Creativity and Passion

While Ben excels academically, he’s quick to point out that his favorite part of the school day is art class. It’s in the art room that he finds freedom of expression and the chance to explore ideas through color, shape, and imagination.

“My favorite class is art because it is very fun and this is the time that I can be creative,” he said.

When the school day ends, Ben’s love for movement and play takes center stage. A passionate soccer player, he treasures his championship rings and dreams of one day taking his skills to the professional level. His favorite app is FC Mobile, a soccer game that allows him to stay connected with the sport even when he’s off the field.

A Bright Future with a Heart for Others

Ben’s favorite movie—Harold and the Purple Crayon—says a lot about how he sees the world: imaginative, adventurous, and full of possibility. He also enjoys watching Bunk’d, listening to “Sunroof” by Nicky Youre and Dazy, and spending time with family and friends. It’s this blend of playfulness, ambition, and kindness that makes him stand out in the CFISD student community.

Ben keeps his priorities simple and sincere. When asked what three things he couldn’t live without, his response was thoughtful and grounded: “Water, food, and shelter.” It’s a perspective that reflects both humility and awareness—qualities that serve him well as a young leader among his peers.

Supporting Student Success in CFISD

Recognitions like Student of the Week shine a light on the everyday excellence happening in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD classrooms. Students like Ben remind us that hard work, creativity, and compassion can start early—and with the right support from schools, families, and educators, they can grow into something even more impactful.

As Ben continues to chase his dream of becoming a professional soccer player, it’s clear that he’s already making a difference, inspiring those around him with his positive attitude and vision for a better world.
