WHAM to Host Annual Spring Dash to Help Neighbors in Need
Dress in your fanciest cape and/or superhero outfit on May 20 and run or walk in West Houston Assistance Ministries' annual Spring Dash 5K/1K, while helping WHAM fight poverty and hunger in Houston.
Kicking off at 8:00 AM, this annual Spring Dash 5K/1K will be held at WHAM located at 10501 Meadowglen Lane in Houston and everyone is welcome to participate. Invite your kids, colleagues, or bring along your neighbors, or even make it a team building activity for your company or a family affair. Everyone who registers will receive a finisher medal, T-shirt, bib and a swag bag filled with goodies and sponsor gifts.
After your heroic run and fight against poverty, all superheroes will get to take a break, receive their medals and enjoy the food, drinks, fun activities, and raffles that will be available for them.
Super Pets on leashes are also welcome to join in the run and fun.
Your support (registration, sponsorship or donation) helps WHAM raise funds to provide critical assistance to individuals and families who need food and financial help. Your support also helps WHAM provide individuals with training and education for better job opportunities.
WHAM provides hope through the provision of social services to families and individuals in need without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin or disability. In fiscal year 2022, WHAM helped over 132,000 individuals of all ages and ethnicities, as they seek to rebound from a variety of crises. Whether it’s by supplying for their basic needs through its platinum-ranked food pantry, financial assistance to avoid eviction or disconnection, employment and training to promote self-sufficiency, or other services like disaster relief and seasonal programs, WHAM’s offerings contribute to achieving our underlying goals: alleviating poverty, building a thriving and healthy community, and giving hope to the hopeless.
