Your local Lone Star College CyFair Library has a fun-filled lineup of activities throughout the month of October! Participating in activities at your local library is a great way to make new friends, or encourage friends to get out of the house and have some fun together. Mark your calendars and get plugged in!

Oct. 4 and Oct. 20 

Yoga and Book Discussion: Breathe & Read

Integrating movement and breath, this book club combines yoga (no matter the level of experience) and a discussion of “Sing, Unburied, Sing” by Jesmyn Ward (reading book is not required.)

Education Speaker Series: Mental Health 

Join the conversation with professionals on how to navigate difficult conversations about mental health and learn to support K-12 students.

National Hispanic Heritage Month Speaker


Professor John Telles, who teaches mathematics at LSC-Cypress Center, will present “Hispanic Contributions in STEM: Past, Present, and Future" to conclude the LSC-CyFair Diversity Committee’s speaker series in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

“Tech Force: Spotlighting Specialties in Workforce Technology”


 
Interested in cybersecurity, digital art, programming or 3D animation careers and more? Come learn about the college’s IT and Visual Communication programs, tour the data center, gain insight with industry professional experts, visit with workforce advisors, enjoy refreshments and giveaways.

The Drama Department’s “Season of Shakespeare” continues with a comedy in which a rag tag cast of 7 attempt to perform 38 roles.

Enjoy the beautiful sounds of the choral program, under the direction of Dr. Paulo Gomes in his inaugural season at LSC-CyFair, featuring the Concert Choir and Chamber Choir performing Vivaldi’s Gloria and other selections from the classical, pop, spiritual, and jazz style.
