Transforming Lives in Cypress: The Inspiring Journey of Camp Gladiator Trainer Jamie Ramos

February 07 2024

From weight loss and fitness transformations to making dream homes a reality, Jamie Ramos is a powerhouse in both the fitness and real estate industries in Cypress and beyond.

Born and raised in Victoria, she has called Houston her home since March of 1999. In fact, today marks her third year in business as a trainer with Camp Gladiator, where she hopes to inspire as many people as she can through fitness and health.

Her personal journey into fitness started in 2017 after undergoing a Gastric Sleeve surgery and enduring a broken ankle. She lost an impressive 115 pounds, and after participating in a Camp Gladiator trial, she was hooked. Although initially hesitant to become a trainer due to her full-time job as a licensed realtor with Walzel Properties, Ramos saw an opportunity to use her experience and story to inspire and motivate others.

"Fitness is not just about physical transformations, it's about empowering people to become the best version of themselves," said Ramos.

Ramos’s workouts aren't just about burning calories—they're about building an inclusive, supportive community. Her fitness classes welcome all ages and fitness levels, with a focus on no judgement, only encouragement, positivity, and challenging but modifiable workouts.

When she isn't hosting workouts or selling houses, Ramos can be found spending quality time with her husband and high school sweetheart, their Air Force veteran daughter, and their son, who recently joined the Air Force and should be graduating soon. She also enjoys searching for gems in antique stores and thrift shops and playing with her three dogs.

She is also a member of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, actively striving to increase the visibility of Camp Gladiator in the Cypress area so she can touch as many lives as possible. On January 31, she participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce for her Camp Gladiator personal training business, marking her commitment to serve the Cypress community.

"We are so excited to see Jamie's passion for health and fitness and personalized approach in our community. We value her contributions to the Cy-Fair Chamber and we are proud to support her in her journey with Camp Gladiator," said Paula Harvey, Vice President of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce.

Despite the lack of a traditional storefront, her dedication to her business, her clients, and her community is unwavering. With meticulous logistical planning, Ramos sets up in parking lots at local churches, parks and schools, providing easy access and diverse locations that give her ample space to conduct workouts with clients.

Helping out the community doesn't stop there. Ramos has been providing various promos and deals to make the fitness program more accessible, and she has been organizing free pop-up Saturday workouts for the public.

"I love helping and inspiring others and with my story, I can relate to many. I understand the uncomfortableness of working out with weight on and weight off. At my workouts, I pass no judgement - only encouragement and positivity - while also incorporating challenging workouts with modifications," said Ramos.

In the coming months, look out for a Spring promo and more pop-up Saturday Community workouts from Camp Gladiator.

"My goal is to create a fitness community where everyone feels welcome and supported, no matter their age or fitness level. Together, we can achieve great things," said Ramos.
