Top Notch Performers Coming to The Centrum in December
Star-studded performances are coming to The Centrum in December, and you won't want to miss these top notch concerts.
The Promenade Series presented by Cypress Creek FACE will present two engaging performances at The Centrum, including "Holiday Storybook" by the Axiom String Quartet. On Tuesday, December 13 at 2:00 PM, Axiom will present a delightful program of classical holiday music for string quartet from around the world. Come listen to old favorites and less familiar holiday songs as Axiom performs and relays the stories behind them. Axiom Quartet members are Matt Lammers, violin; Dominika Dancewicz, violin; Katie Carrington, viola; and Patrick Moore, cello. For tickets, visit cypresscreekface.org.
The Promenade Series features local and regional artists showcased in eleven concerts. One of these concerts is presented on a Saturday evening, while the remaining ten are scheduled on the second Tuesday afternoon of each month to accommodate senior citizens in our community. FACE works with local retirement communities, nursing homes and senior groups to provide programming they will enjoy and an opportunity for socialization. In addition, each year FACE brings an internationally acclaimed choral conductor, like Moses Hogan, Sweden’s Robert Sund, and Venezula’s Maria Guinand, to work with area schools to present a combined choral concert, “A World of Song.”
Cypress Creek FACE will also present a lively New Year’s Eve concert, "One Night in Memphis," on Saturday, December 31 at 7:30 PM. “One Night in Memphis” is a rocking concert tribute to legendary Sun Records recording artists Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley. Coming to The Centrum, audiences will savor over 90 minutes of rockabilly, country, gospel and pure 1950’s rock and roll music performed live and backed by an authentic and energetic rockabilly backup band. Created and directed by John Mueller from the highly acclaimed show, “Winter Dance Party” this show has met with the same accolades, sell out shows and audience standing ovations.
Be a witness to a rock and roll royalty jam session with the music and talent that has stood the test of time. True American music featuring the hits, “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Whole lotta Shaking Going On,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Hound Dog,” and many, many more with acclaimed national talent, all performed live without tracks and guaranteed to get any audience rocking and rolling! The Cypress Creek Foundation for the Arts & Community Enrichment (FACE) is a non-profit foundation with the mission to provide cultural arts programming and educational opportunities for the community. Our concerts feature a wide range of classical and performing artists from traditional to contemporary, large to small ensembles, solo performers, and multi-cultural attractions.
