Tomball Lions Club Supports Thanksgiving Fund for Tomball's Families Feeding Families
In October, the Tomball Lions Club presented the $2,000 check allocation by the club to help the Tomball Families Feeding Families provide Thanksgiving meals to families that would not otherwise have a hot Thanksgiving meal in the Tomball Community.
Mr. Richard Gatewood, Owner of Gatewood and Associates Commercial Real Estate in Tomball, and Director and Founding Member of Families Feeding Families, was the guest Speaker at the Tomball Lions Club meeting on Friday, November 10, 2023.
Families Feeding Families is organized by business people and community volunteers. Tomball Families Feeding Families aims to provide a meal for the day before Thanksgiving that will feed people in need.
Families Feeding Families has become a holiday tradition for many families in the Tomball community, and continues to grow year after year. It is anticipated that also around 300 outbound meals for shut-ins and the homeless. The budget for this year’s event is over $50,000. Nearly 400 volunteers help make this a successful event, with over 5,000 meals planned to be served to those that attend. Meals are also taken to local nursing homes. All volunteers will eat with the attendees. In addition to the hot meals, free face painting and children’s activities will be available.

The Tomball Lions Club will serve those that need a hot meal, those in need of companionship or those that need a prayer or hug. We serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all of the trimmings. In addition, health services are provided, including flu shots, haircuts, vision screening, plus free giveaways. The event will be held on November 22 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Salem Community Center, located at 22601 Lutheran Church Road in Tomball.
