Tomball ISD Board of Trustees to Hold Regular Meeting January 13 — Public Comment Procedures Updated for 2026
The Tomball Independent School District Board of Trustees will hold its first Regular Meeting of the year on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the John P. Neubauer Administration Building, located at 310 S. Cherry Street in Tomball. Community members interested in the direction of local education policy, facilities, and funding are invited to attend — or tune in via the district’s livestream — as trustees deliberate on a range of agenda items.
In accordance with Texas Government Code Section 551.007, Tomball ISD will offer time for public comments on both agenda and non-agenda items during the open meeting. As part of changes brought by House Bill 2840, the district has updated its public comment procedures to align with state law while maximizing accessibility and order.
Key Changes and Sign-Up Requirements for Public Comments
For residents planning to speak during the meeting, it’s important to note that sign-up to speak must be completed between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting — either online at tomballisd.net or in person at the administration building. All speakers must be present at the time their name is called and will not be permitted to speak if they arrive late.
Each speaker will be given up to three minutes to comment. However, if more than five people register to speak, the Board may reduce this to one minute per speaker. An extra minute is permitted for individuals addressing multiple agenda items. Comments on non-agenda items may be moved to the end of the meeting to accommodate efficiency.
Those addressing the Board must comply with established rules of decorum — refraining from personal attacks, political endorsements, or comments that violate student or employee confidentiality. The district encourages constructive feedback delivered respectfully and in accordance with meeting protocol.
Questions about the public comment process can be directed to Janice Tadlock, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, at 281-357-3100, extension 2005.
