Tomball Assistance Ministries Opens New Client Services Location at Village Square
For Tomball-area families facing an unexpected job loss, rising grocery costs, a medical emergency or difficulty paying rent and utilities, knowing where to turn can make an overwhelming situation feel more manageable.
Beginning Tuesday, July 21, Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries, commonly known as TEAM, will begin receiving Assistance Ministry clients at a new location at 831 Village Square Drive in Tomball. The move gives qualifying residents a new place to apply for services that can help stabilize a household during a financial crisis.
Clients may sign up at the Village Square location during the following updated hours:
- Tuesdays: 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
TEAM said it looks forward to welcoming clients to the new location while continuing to serve the Tomball community with compassion and care.
What Help Is Available Through TEAM?
TEAM provides emergency support to qualifying individuals and families living in Tomball ZIP codes 77375 and 77377, within the Tomball Independent School District attendance area or connected to one of the organization’s member churches.
Depending on household circumstances and available resources, assistance may include help with rent or utility bills, medical, dental and vision care, limited automobile repairs, clothing and household goods, job-search resources, budgeting workshops and groceries from the TEAM Food Pantry.
Qualifying clients may generally receive groceries every three weeks. TEAM also coordinates seasonal Thanksgiving and Christmas programs and provides mentoring through customized action plans intended to help families move toward greater financial stability.
That combination of immediate assistance and longer-term guidance has shaped the nonprofit’s work for four decades.
TEAM was established in 1986 when 11 Tomball churches came together to support local families in crisis. The organization has since grown to include 21 member churches as the Tomball area’s population—and the need for emergency assistance—has increased.
During the fiscal year from October 2024 through September 2025, TEAM provided more than $485,093 in food and financial assistance. The organization reports that more than 90% of every donated dollar is used to directly assist clients.
A Community Organization Powered by Volunteers
TEAM’s services are supported by residents, churches, community partners and volunteers who contribute their time to the food pantry, resale operations, educational programs, fundraising and direct client assistance.
In 2023, TEAM reported support from 295 volunteers, including 96 regular volunteers, who contributed a combined 29,210 hours. Those hours represent neighbors helping neighbors through some of life’s most difficult moments.
For one former client, assistance with food, rent and employment resources became a bridge between unemployment and a fresh start.
“TEAM was very helpful! I lost my job after a car accident; my family and I were behind in our rent. TEAM provided food, helped pay our rent, and gave me information to help in a job search. . . . I’m now working again! They really helped me on my way; I’m on the verge of closing one part of my life and TEAM helped me step into the next part,” TEAM client Gabriel said.
Stories like Gabriel’s illustrate why local emergency assistance programs matter beyond the financial support itself. For families living paycheck to paycheck, one accident, illness or interruption in income can quickly threaten housing, transportation and access to basic necessities.
What Documents Should Clients Bring?
Residents applying for assistance should be prepared to provide documentation that helps TEAM confirm eligibility and understand the household’s needs.
Requested documents may include a government-issued photo ID, proof of a current address, income and expense information, pay statements and relevant bills. Those seeking rental assistance should bring a lease agreement and utility bill.
Applicants who are waiting for Social Security, workers’ compensation or unemployment benefits should also bring documentation showing that an application is in progress.
Bringing complete paperwork can help the intake process move more efficiently, although the type of documentation needed may vary based on the assistance being requested.
Who Qualifies for TEAM Assistance?
TEAM primarily serves low-income individuals and families who meet at least one of the following criteria:
They live in a Tomball ZIP code, including 77375 or 77377; live within the Tomball ISD service area; or belong to one of TEAM’s member churches.
Residents outside the organization’s outreach area may call 2-1-1 to locate other food pantries, rental assistance programs, utility assistance and community resources near them.
TEAM operates as an equal opportunity provider and follows federal civil rights and U.S. Department of Agriculture nondiscrimination requirements. Program information may also be made available in alternative formats or languages for individuals who need accommodations.

Residents should note that some previously published TEAM information may still reference the organization’s downtown office at 300 W. Main Street or earlier service hours. The newest announcement directs Assistance Ministry clients to the Village Square Drive location during the updated Tuesday and Thursday intake periods.
For Tomball families facing a temporary crisis, the new location continues a community tradition that began with 11 churches and has grown into a broad network of volunteers, donors and partners working to keep local households fed, housed and connected to opportunity.
