Primark Opens at Willowbrook Mall, Bringing Affordable Fashion to Northwest Houston
For families across Northwest Houston, a new option for stretching clothing and household budgets has officially arrived just as back-to-school shopping begins.
Primark opened its newest Texas store at Willowbrook Mall on Thursday, July 16, bringing nearly 30,000 square feet of affordable fashion, children’s clothing, accessories, beauty products, home goods and everyday essentials to one of the region’s busiest shopping destinations.
The opening gives residents of Champions, Cypress, Tomball, Spring, Klein, Jersey Village and surrounding communities another place to compare prices and shop for the entire family without traveling across the Houston metropolitan area.
It also represents another major investment in Willowbrook Mall and the continued evolution of the Northwest Houston retail corridor near Texas 249 and FM 1960.
Primark Willowbrook Mall Is Now Open
The Primark Willowbrook Mall store became the international retailer’s seventh location in Texas, second in the Greater Houston area and 43rd in the United States when it opened July 16. It joins Primark’s Katy Mills store, which introduced the brand to the Houston market in November 2025.
The new store is located inside Willowbrook Mall at 2000 Willowbrook Mall in Houston. Primark lists the location as open and provides current store hours, directions and department information through its website.
Grand opening festivities kicked off in the late morning and included sweet treats, giveaways and other surprises for shoppers while supplies lasted.
Although the opening-day celebration has ended, the store’s arrival gives Northwest Houston shoppers a permanent new destination for affordable women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, along with beauty, home and seasonal merchandise.
Affordable Back-to-School Shopping Arrives at the Right Time
The timing may be particularly helpful for families preparing for a new school year.
Primark promotes itself as a one-stop shopping destination where customers can find both current fashion trends and basic wardrobe staples at lower price points. At the Willowbrook store, advertised starting prices include women’s denim at $12, men’s T-shirts at $5 and girls’ and boys’ sweatshirts at $8.
For parents buying school clothes for multiple children, those prices can make a noticeable difference. The store also gives local shoppers another place to look for socks, shirts, jeans, sleepwear, accessories and other frequently replaced essentials.
Customers can browse many of Primark’s current products online before visiting, although the company’s business model remains centered on shopping inside its physical stores.
That emphasis may be especially relevant at Willowbrook Mall, where new retailers and entertainment businesses are helping repurpose former anchor spaces and draw visitors back to the shopping center.
A Second Primark Store for Greater Houston
Primark’s decision to open at Willowbrook follows the company’s early experience at Katy Mills, where its first Greater Houston location opened in late 2025.
“We continue to see the demand for Primark’s value, quality and style among Texas shoppers, and the Houston metro is no exception,” said Kevin Tulip, president of Primark US. “Following Primark’s success at Katy Mills, we’ve learned what makes the Houston shopper tick and we’re ready to open our doors and provide that unique offering to more area shoppers than ever before.”
The Willowbrook opening means residents on Houston’s north and northwest sides no longer need to make the longer drive to Katy to visit the retailer.
It also strengthens Primark’s growing presence across Texas. In addition to Willowbrook Mall and Katy Mills, the company operates stores at The Parks Mall at Arlington, North East Mall in Hurst, Grapevine Mills, Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso and La Plaza in McAllen. The Willowbrook location followed store openings in Hurst in April and Arlington in June.
How Primark Grew From Dublin to an International Retailer
Primark traces its history to Dublin, Ireland, where the company opened its first store in 1969.
The retailer was founded around the idea that clothing, accessories and everyday essentials should be available at prices that allow more people to participate in current styles without paying premium prices.
Since then, Primark has grown into an international retailer operating across Europe, the United States and the Middle East. As of July 16, the company reported 495 stores across 19 countries, including 43 stores in the United States.
Its merchandise spans women’s and men’s fashion, children’s clothing, footwear, accessories, beauty products, home goods and licensed collections. The company also carries collaborations tied to entertainment and popular culture, including Disney, Marvel, Minecraft, Hello Kitty, anime and professional sports.
Unlike retailers that have shifted much of their focus toward shipping individual online orders, Primark remains heavily invested in physical stores. The company views in-person shopping as a social experience and as a way to support activity at malls, shopping centers and commercial districts.
Primark has also outlined environmental and supply-chain goals focused on extending the usable life of clothing, reducing its impact on the planet and supporting the people involved in making its products.
What the Opening Means for Willowbrook Mall
The new store occupies part of a former Sears anchor space, reflecting a broader effort to introduce new uses into areas once occupied by traditional department stores.
For Willowbrook Mall, adding another international brand may help attract customers from a wide area that includes Northwest Harris County and southern Montgomery County.
That traffic can benefit more than a single store. Families visiting Primark may also eat at nearby restaurants, shop with other mall tenants or visit surrounding businesses, keeping more consumer activity within the Willowbrook and Northwest Houston area.
The opening also provides employment opportunities closer to home. Primark’s Houston-area careers page continues to list positions that may include full-time, part-time and seasonal sales, stockroom, operations and leadership roles.
What Shoppers Should Know Before Visiting
Primark Willowbrook Mall is located at 2000 Willowbrook Mall, Houston, TX 77070.
Shoppers can visit Primark’s website to browse current collections, confirm store hours and review product departments before making the trip.
Because merchandise availability can vary by store and season, customers searching for a particular size, licensed collection or back-to-school item may want to browse online first and visit earlier in the shopping season.
For Northwest Houston families, the opening offers something practical: another nearby place to look for clothing and household essentials at prices designed for everyday budgets.
For Willowbrook Mall, it adds an international retailer at a time when shopping centers and retailers continue to evolve alongside changing consumer habits, including the rise of online shopping, by redefining themselves as community destinations rather than simply collections of stores.
