
TMHS Silver Stars and THS Cougar Charms Shine in Competition Season
The Tomball Memorial High School Silver Stars and the Tomball High School Cougar Charms have once again demonstrated their excellence in the high school dance competition circuit, earning multiple titles at regional, state, and national events. Both teams, under the leadership of Directors Samandra Nail (TMHS) and Brittany Huebner (THS), have built a tradition of hard work, dedication, and championship success that continues to solidify their status among the nation’s elite dance programs.
Dedication and Preparation Lead to Success
For the Silver Stars and Cougar Charms, competition season is the highlight of the year, but training begins months in advance. Their rigorous preparation, which includes intensive rehearsals and mastering choreography across multiple dance styles, has resulted in numerous accolades at prestigious competitions.
“I am incredibly proud of our Stars! Our success this contest season is because of every single girl's work ethic and dedication to each other,” said TMHS Silver Stars Director Samandra Nail. “Contest season is very challenging on their bodies, and because we choose to dance for the person next to us, we have seen the fruits of our labor.”

Tomball Memorial High School Silver Stars Achievements
At the Crowd Pleasers Dance – Clear Springs Regional, the Silver Stars dominated with multiple first-place finishesand prestigious awards:

Their success extended to the Dance Team Union (DTU) National Championships, where they competed against over 220 teams from 35 states:

Several Silver Stars members also excelled in solo and duet categories, including Ashlyn From and Celsie Jones, who won first place in duet competition, and Sydney Morrison, who won the 11th-grade solo category.

Up next, the Silver Stars will host their Spring Show, "Reflect and Refine," in the TMHS Theater, showcasing their talent and creativity.
Tomball High School Cougar Charms Achievements
The Cougar Charms also had an outstanding season, earning top placements at the NDA High School Nationals:

2nd Place in the Nation – Large Varsity Game Day (Silver Medalist, Innovative Choreography Award)

Their success continued at the Marching Auxiliaries of America (MA) Dance State Championships, where they were awarded:

Cougar Charms members also achieved individual excellence, including Sierra Kaplan, who won 1st place in the 17-18 solo category, and Lucy & Katy Shomette, who took home 1st place in the 15-16 duet category.

Reflecting on the team’s success, THS Cougar Charms Director Brittany Huebner shared her pride in her dancers: “Proud doesn’t even begin to describe the way I feel about this incredible group of girls and all they’ve achieved this season. Their unwavering commitment and drive to improve both for themselves and for their teammates is inspiring.”
She credited the team's ongoing success to their strong leadership, focused culture, team chemistry, and unwavering dedication. The support from the school, community, and families has played a vital role in fostering their excellence year after year.
