Tip A Cop Comes to Tomball: Support Special Olympics Texas with Constable Mark Herman and Deputies at Texas Roadhouse on July 24
Local law enforcement officers will swap patrol cars for dinner trays on Thursday, July 24, 2025, as the Tip A Cop event makes its way to Tomball’s Texas Roadhouse, offering residents a heartfelt chance to give back to Special Olympics Texas. From 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, off-duty deputies from the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, led by Constable Mark Herman, will join restaurant staff at 24530 Tomball Pkwy, Tomball, TX 77375 to serve guests, collect tips, and raise awareness for an inspiring cause.
The event is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Texas, a nationwide initiative that brings together law enforcement officers and the communities they serve to support athletes with intellectual disabilities. Every tip and donation collected during the dinner service will directly benefit Special Olympics athletes in the Tomball and Greater Northwest Houston region.
“Our deputies are honored to support such a meaningful cause,” said Constable Mark Herman. “This is a great opportunity for the community to meet our team and make a difference in the lives of these incredible athletes.”
The Tip A Cop program is more than a fundraiser — it’s a bridge between first responders and the public, showcasing the heart behind the badge. By volunteering as guest servers, deputies help create a welcoming, inclusive environment that champions athletic achievement and personal empowerment for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Special Olympics Texas offers year-round sports training, health programs, and competitions to thousands of athletes statewide, many of whom live, work, and play in the Tomball area. Events like Tip A Cop provide essential funding to keep these programs accessible and impactful — and they invite the community to take part in building a more inclusive world, one meal at a time.
“Together, we can help create a more inclusive and unified community through sports and support,” Herman’s office shared in its announcement.
The Tomball edition of Tip A Cop follows similar events in Cypress and across Harris County, where residents have come out in droves to support local athletes through shared meals, conversations, and generous donations. With each officer-served plate and each tip collected, lives are changed — not just for the athletes, but for the families, neighbors, and law enforcement members who rally around them.
“Join us for a fun-filled evening of great food and even greater purpose,” Herman added, encouraging Tomball residents to come out, bring friends, and enjoy dinner while giving back.
