Three Distinguished Cypress Creek Alumni Join 2025 Wall of Honor Class
In a heartfelt ceremony on May 12, Cypress Creek High School honored three extraordinary alumni by inducting them into the school’s 2025 Wall of Honor class. The annual tradition, which dates back to the school’s opening in 1976-77, recognizes former students whose lifetime accomplishments and contributions to their fields bring pride and inspiration to the Cypress-Fairbanks community.
This year’s honorees—Dr. Jocelyn Gomez, Noel Wallace, and Vicky Wight—were selected by a committee of past and present educators and staff for their exceptional impact in healthcare, global business, and the arts.
Honoring Excellence Born at Cy Creek
“I’m always excited during this time of the year as we induct more people onto the Wall of Honor,” said Jim Wells, retired Cypress Creek principal and chairperson of the Wall of Honor. “It’s a great honor to acknowledge the excellence that comes from this school and the school district... We’re Cy-Fair proud and especially Cy Creek proud.”

Dr. Jocelyn Gomez: Advancing Healthcare with Heart
A 2007 graduate, Dr. Jocelyn Gomez has turned personal health challenges into a passionate career in psychology and medical education. A published author and assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital, Dr. Gomez serves patients with chronic pain and trains future doctors with compassion and dedication. Her outreach extends beyond the hospital through volunteer work with the U.S. Pain Foundation and organizations supporting STEM education among underserved students.

“I learned a lot during my time at Cy Creek, especially from my English teachers,” she reflected. “Without them I don’t think I could be a published author as a scientist... When I think about Cy Creek, I think about all of the fun times in my adolescent years that helped me along the way in my career.”
Noel Wallace: Leading a Fortune 200 Company with Integrity
From Cypress Creek’s Class of 1983 to the helm of a global powerhouse, Noel Wallace has spent over three decades climbing the ranks of Colgate-Palmolive to become its chairman, president, and CEO. His international business journey has included postings in Turkey, Russia, Mexico, and South Africa. Alongside his corporate leadership, Wallace serves on several prestigious boards, including New York Presbyterian Hospital and The Business Council.

“Community is a sense of spirit, character, sharing, teaching and mentoring... That was the community that was Cypress Creek for me,” Wallace said. “There is a place like home, and it’s called Cypress Creek. I’m honored to be back and cherish the incredible proposition bestowed upon me.”
Vicky Wight: Crafting Stories that Connect and Inspire
A trailblazer in cinema, Vicky Wight (Class of 1991) is an award-winning producer, writer, and director whose films have reached audiences via Netflix, PBS, SXSW, and the Tribeca Film Festival. Wight’s recent projects include The Lost Husband and a new documentary collaboration with tennis icon Serena Williams titled Zina, celebrating sports legend Zina Garrison.

“I feel so honored to be a part of this ceremony and to be added to the Wall of Honor,” Wight said. “Cypress Creek was so impactful in my life, and honestly the foundation of my success in life was made here at Cy Creek.”
Legacy of Inspiration
The Cypress Creek High School Wall of Honor is more than a collection of names—it’s a beacon for current and future students to see what’s possible when education, resilience, and community come together. With their impressive accomplishments and humble gratitude, the 2025 inductees reaffirm the values and spirit of the Cy-Fair community.
