The Sideline Sports Bar Set to Bring Game-Day Energy to Austin’s Growing EastVillage District
The next chapter of EastVillage’s rapid transformation is taking shape in North Austin, and this time it’s sports fans who have something new to look forward to.
The Sideline Sports Bar is officially on the way to EastVillage at 3500 E. Parmer Lane, where plans call for a new 3,300-square-foot sports bar in Building 3. According to project filings, construction is expected to begin in August 2026 and conclude in October 2026, bringing a new entertainment-focused destination to the increasingly active mixed-use development in Austin’s northeast technology corridor.
While EastVillage has steadily attracted restaurants, retailers, residential communities, and entertainment concepts, The Sideline appears poised to fill a different niche: a dedicated gathering place where residents, workers, and visitors can watch the big game, meet friends after work, or spend an evening overlooking one of the development’s signature public spaces.
According to information released by EastVillage, The Sideline will feature indoor seating, multiple television screens for sports viewing, a spacious outdoor patio, and second-floor views overlooking the community amphitheater. The concept is expected to create an environment that extends beyond game days, offering another venue where residents can gather within walking distance of homes, offices, restaurants, and community events.
Another Piece of EastVillage’s Growing Entertainment Scene
For many North Austin residents, EastVillage has quickly become one of the city’s most closely watched developments.
The 426-acre mixed-use district was designed around the idea of creating a walkable urban center where people can live, work, dine, and socialize without making frequent trips across town. Anchored by residential communities, office space, retail destinations, restaurants, green spaces, and event venues, the project has emerged as a major hub serving Northeast Austin, Tech Ridge, and nearby communities including Pflugerville, Manor, and Round Rock.
At the heart of the development sits a 1.5-acre village green that regularly hosts community gatherings, festivals, outdoor concerts, fitness events, and family activities. Surrounding the urban core are pedestrian pathways, parks, water features, and access to approximately 150 acres of preserved natural space with hiking and biking trails.
The arrival of a sports bar overlooking the amphitheater aligns with EastVillage’s broader vision of creating destinations where residents can spend time close to home while still enjoying the amenities typically associated with larger urban districts.
Building Momentum in North Austin
The Sideline joins a growing list of businesses that have recently opened or announced plans for EastVillage.
Over the past year, the development has welcomed notable additions including TORA, the technology-forward sushi concept from the MICHELIN-recognized Aburi Restaurants group, and Kilwins, which brought its first Austin location to the community. Additional concepts, including Shake Shack, Killer Burger, and Flame Broiler, have also announced plans to join the district.
The steady influx of restaurants and entertainment venues reflects the continued growth occurring throughout Austin’s northeast corridor, particularly around major employment centers and technology campuses.
For residents who already call EastVillage home—or those considering a move to the area—the addition of The Sideline represents another amenity designed to enhance the neighborhood’s live-work-play environment.
Why It Matters for Austin Residents
Mixed-use developments across Texas increasingly compete not only on housing and retail offerings but also on the experiences they create for residents. Sports bars have long served as informal community gathering places where neighbors meet, local teams are celebrated, and major sporting events bring people together.
The Sideline’s location overlooking EastVillage’s amphitheater could make it especially attractive during concerts, community events, and seasonal celebrations held throughout the development.
As EastVillage continues to mature, projects like The Sideline help reinforce the development’s goal of creating a downtown-style atmosphere in North Austin—one where dining, entertainment, recreation, and community life are all connected by walkable streets and public gathering spaces.
What Happens Next
Construction on The Sideline Sports Bar is scheduled to begin on Aug. 15, 2026, with completion anticipated by Oct. 15, 2026. The project involves a tenant finish-out within Building 3 at EastVillage and carries an estimated investment of $150,000.
An official opening date has not yet been announced.
For EastVillage residents and North Austin sports fans, however, the countdown to a new game-day destination has officially begun.
