The Red Chickz in Cypress Launches 'Panther Special' to Support Prairie View A&M Students
The Red Chickz, a popular fast-food chain in Cypress, is celebrating its dedication to the local community with a new initiative aimed at supporting students at Prairie View A&M University. Known for its fiery Nashville hot chicken, The Red Chickz has already established a reputation for being more than just a place to eat.
The new initiative, dubbed the "Panther Special," has been launched in honor of Prairie View A&M students and will run through June 30. The special includes the University's namesake 'Prairie View,' a delectably crunchy french toast chicken sandwiches. A portion of the proceeds from the "Panther Special" will be channeled into scholarships for current Prairie View A&M students.
Founded in 2018 by Nima Christensen and Shawn Lalehzarian, The Red Chickz brand has always been big on their community initiatives. Local, the Cypress area eatery, owned by Mauricio Guerra, has served complimentary lunches to teachers and faculty at Cy-Lakes High School and firefighters of Cypress Station 7. Their menu features a specially prepared Nashville-style hot chicken served with waffles, as a sandwich or taco, jumbo shrimp, cheese curds and more.
“Education is something that is very important, especially for the BIPOC community. I’m just grateful that I can help some students achieve their dreams!”, says Nima Christensen. This sentiment is shared by franchise owner Mauricio Guerra, who is leading the Panther Special initiative at the Cypress location. "To be able to be put in a position to help college students is something I am very grateful for and want to take action on," Guerra added.
