Houston Couple Brings BEEM Light Sauna to Energy Corridor With Personal Focus on Recovery and Wellness
For Clyde and Denia Smith, opening a wellness studio in Houston’s Energy Corridor is about more than introducing another health and recovery concept to West Houston. The new BEEM Energy Corridor, opening in mid-September at 1560 Eldridge Parkway, Suite 148, grew out of experiences that changed how the couple thought about taking care of themselves — and a desire to create a place where neighbors can make recovery and personal time part of their regular routines.
Denia is a breast cancer survivor, while Clyde has dealt with sports injuries and chronic pain. Those experiences led the couple to pay closer attention to recovery, rest and proactive wellness, eventually influencing their decision to bring BEEM’s infrared sauna and light therapy concept to a part of Houston they already considered home.
“Opening beem® isn't just a business launch for us – it's deeply personal,” Clyde said. “We've both experienced how easy it is to put your own health and recovery last. We wanted to create a place where people can step away from the demands of everyday life, take care of themselves, and leave feeling genuinely restored.”
What BEEM Energy Corridor Will Offer
The locally owned BEEM Energy Corridor studio will feature private suites for infrared sauna, red light therapy and chromotherapy, giving guests their own space rather than placing them in a large communal sauna or wellness room. Infrared sauna sessions at BEEM are 40 minutes, while the company says its red light therapy sessions are typically 15 minutes. Guests can listen to music, podcasts or watch shows during some sessions.
That format may appeal to the mix of professionals, parents, athletes and active adults who live and work in the Energy Corridor and surrounding West Houston neighborhoods, particularly those looking for wellness or recovery options that can fit around a workday, workout or family schedule.
BEEM advises customers to consult with a physician if they have questions or concerns about using an infrared sauna. As with many wellness services, individual experiences and results can vary.
BEEM Has Grown Its Light Therapy Concept Nationwide
Founded in 2021, BEEM Light Sauna has grown into a network of locally owned studios built around full-spectrum infrared sauna and light therapy. The brand reports 81 studios nationwide, including 24 locations offering its expanded green and blue light therapy services.
BEEM’s full-spectrum infrared saunas use near-, mid- and far-infrared wavelengths, while its studios also offer red light therapy and chromotherapy. The company markets the services for goals including relaxation, recovery and general wellness. BEEM also says certain red light therapy services may qualify for payment or reimbursement through Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts, depending on an individual’s HSA or FSA plan. Customers are encouraged to confirm eligibility with their plan administrator.
Texas is already home to several BEEM studios, including locations in River Oaks, Vintage Park, The Woodlands and Kingwood in the Houston area. The Energy Corridor location is listed by the company as an upcoming opening.
For the Smiths, the Energy Corridor Feels Like Coming Home
The location itself carries meaning for the owners. West Houston was where Clyde and Denia first settled after moving to the United States, making the opportunity to establish their business along Eldridge Parkway a return to familiar territory.
“This community welcomed us when we first came to the United States, so being able to open beem® here feels incredibly meaningful,” Smith said. “We want to give back by creating a space that feels like a sanctuary – somewhere people can come for 40 minutes, disconnect from the noise, and reconnect with themselves.”
That community connection is also expected to extend beyond the studio doors. The Smiths plan to pursue partnerships with local businesses, fitness facilities, healthcare providers, schools, corporate teams and civic organizations, potentially placing the new Energy Corridor wellness business within a broader network of neighborhood health and fitness resources.
Founding Member Offers Available Ahead of Opening
BEEM Energy Corridor is expected to welcome its first guests in mid-September 2026. Ahead of the opening, the studio is promoting Founding Member rates along with complimentary first two sessions and additional local partnerships associated with the launch.
For Energy Corridor residents, the opening adds another locally operated option to West Houston’s growing collection of fitness, recovery and personal wellness businesses. For the Smiths, however, it represents something more personal: a chance to turn lessons learned through their own health challenges into a business in the community that first welcomed them.
