The Light Park Brings Holiday Magic to Sam Houston Race Park for 2025 Season

October 23 2025

As the holiday season draws near, families across West Houston and Cypress are gearing up for one of the most dazzling traditions of the year: The Light Park at Sam Houston Race Park. This beloved drive-through Christmas light show returns for its 2025 season, promising a mile of music-synced LED lights and unforgettable holiday memories—all without leaving the comfort of your car.

Located at 7575 North Sam Houston Pkwy W, Houston, TX 77064 in the heart of Houston’s northwest corridor, The Light Park at Sam Houston Race Park invites visitors to experience a magical fusion of lights and sound. From glittering light tunnels to towering displays, the entire show is choreographed to upbeat holiday tunes broadcast through your car radio, making it an immersive and joyful experience for all ages.

The 2025 season officially kicks off on November 7 and runs daily through January 4. Hours of operation are 5:30–10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:30–11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. During peak holiday times—Thanksgiving Day and every night beginning December 19—the park will remain open until 11 p.m. nightly to accommodate the seasonal excitement.

Part of a Houston-Wide Holiday Tradition

While Sam Houston Race Park offers its own unique setup of twinkling installations and themed displays, it’s one of three Light Park venues across the Greater Houston Area. Families can also visit The Light Park at Typhoon Texas in Katy and Hurricane Harbor in Spring, each offering its own distinct layout and light choreography.

Having multiple locations across the region allows residents from Cypress, Jersey Village, Spring Branch, Champions, and other Houston-area neighborhoods to choose the most convenient site—or visit more than one for a truly magical holiday tour.

Whether you're continuing a cherished family tradition or discovering the event for the first time, The Light Park offers a joyful, stress-free holiday outing with a touch of Texas charm. Tickets sell quickly, so early planning is encouraged.
