Texas Roadhouse to Expand Houston Location at US 290 and FM 1960 with New Dining Room Addition by Year-End
A sizzling expansion is on the menu at Texas Roadhouse in northwest Houston. The popular steakhouse chain is set to begin construction this fall on a new dining room addition at its location at 13345 FM 1960 Rd W, bringing more space—and more seats—for hungry guests.
According to public records, construction will begin on September 12, 2025, and is expected to wrap up by December 12, 2025. The 709-square-foot addition will increase the restaurant’s seating capacity by 56 guests. The $450,000 project will enhance the existing building, part of a continued effort by the chain to accommodate strong local demand and maintain its high-volume service model.
Texas Roadhouse, known for its hand-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone ribs, and freshly baked bread, serves over 544,000 meals daily across more than 600 locations nationwide. The average restaurant seats approximately 300 guests, and this expansion will push the Houston location closer to that benchmark.

With locations averaging 6,200 guests per week—one of the highest traffic rates in the industry—the need for more space is not surprising. The FM 1960 store's addition aims to ease wait times and enhance the dining experience without compromising the brand’s hallmark features: hearty meals, lively atmosphere, and community-centered design.
In keeping with Texas Roadhouse’s tradition, it’s likely the expanded space will feature custom artwork that reflects the Houston community. Each restaurant typically includes a mural of a distinguished Native American figure alongside locally inspired art, part of the brand’s commitment to celebrating regional culture.
Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, the company has steadily grown since its 1993 debut in Clarksville, Indiana. It now operates in 49 U.S. states and nearly 40 locations internationally across 10 countries, with another Texas Roadhouse coming to Cypress.
