Texas Renaissance Festival 2025 Returns in Todd Mission with Magic, Merriment, and Record Momentum

September 18 2025

The Texas Renaissance Festival is back for its 51st season, ready to once again transform the piney woods of Todd Mission into a 16th-century wonderland filled with knights, pirates, fairies, fire shows, and unforgettable family fun. From October 11 through November 30, 2025, the beloved festival will welcome guests every weekend — plus Thanksgiving Friday — with themed celebrations, artisan markets, live entertainment, and larger-than-life pageantry.

For fans of fantasy, history, or just good old-fashioned spectacle, it’s a can’t-miss event and the largest Renaissance festival in the nation.

A Season to Remember, A New Chapter Begins

Fresh off a record-setting 50th anniversary year, which drew over 533,000 visitors and nearly 73,000 campers, the Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF) is riding high into its 2025 season with momentum and magic.

“From the turnout at the front gates to the bustling campgrounds, our 2024 campaign was one of the most well-attended seasons on record,” said a representative with TRF. “We can’t wait to welcome everyone back here in 2025.”

That sentiment rings true for the many families, cosplayers, and fantasy enthusiasts who return year after year to wander the 70-acre recreation of a European village, located about an hour north of Houston.

Whether you're dressed in fine Tudor garments or sneakers, every visitor is transported to another world the moment they pass through the gates.

2025 Season Highlights

Each weekend brings its own themed flair, complete with costume contests, eating competitions, and special performances across 21 stages. Here’s a glimpse of what’s ahead:

  • Oktoberfest (Oct. 11–12): Bratwurst, bier, and Bavarian merriment.

  • 1001 Dreams (Oct. 18–19): Elves, fairies, and fantasy creatures roam the lanes.

  • All Hallows Eve (Oct. 25–26): Halloween spirit abounds with spooky surprises.

  • Pirate Adventure (Nov. 1–2): A swashbuckling celebration on land and sea.

  • Heroes and Villains (Nov. 8–9): From capes to cloaks, it’s good vs. evil.

  • Barbarian Invasion (Nov. 15–16): Feasts and fun with the Great Horde.

  • Highland Fling (Nov. 22–23): Scottish pride with haggis and Highland games.

  • Celtic Christmas (Nov. 28–30): A three-day holiday extravaganza with Father Christmas, seasonal shopping, and yuletide joy.

Festivalgoers can expect everything from jousting tournaments to falconry demonstrations, comedy acts, and musicians from across the globe. Don’t miss the nightly fire show and Royal Fireworks, which close out each evening with a spectacular flourish.

Camping, Community, and Even Weddings

For those who want to extend the magic, The Fields of New Market — TRF’s 230-acre campground — offers a home-away-from-home for tents, RVs, and themed camps. In 2024, the campground set new records, welcoming more than 15,000 campers in a single weekend during Barbarian Invasion.

It’s not just a place to stay — it’s part of the experience, with bonfires, music, and after-hours camaraderie that keeps the community spirit alive well into the night.

The festival is also a popular destination for couples seeking a fairytale wedding. Last year, 44 weddings and 27 receptions were hosted on site, with another 20 already booked for the 2025 season.

The Magic Behind the Scenes

Since its founding in 1974, the Texas Renaissance Festival has become more than just an event — it’s a tradition. Beyond its themed weekends and artisan wares, TRF has become a place where families make memories, kids explore imagination, and guests find a unique escape from the everyday.

That magic doesn’t end when the gates close. TRF continues community engagement through appearances at events like Dickens on the Strand, and charitable efforts such as Toys for Tots, offering donors the chance to win 2025 festival tickets.

Plan Your Visit

The Texas Renaissance Festival runs every Saturday and Sunday from Oct. 11 through Nov. 30, plus Thanksgiving Friday, rain or shine.

Located at 22014 FM 1774, Todd Mission, TX 77363, the Texas Renaissance Festival is approximately 55 miles northwest of Houston. Visitors should plan ahead, as heavy traffic and long lines are common near the entrance, especially on peak weekends.

Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, the 51st season of the Texas Renaissance Festival is shaping up to be a legendary adventure.
