TEAM Steps Up for Tomball Families This Summer with Food, Financial Aid, and Community Support
As summer heats up in Tomball, so do the challenges faced by many local families struggling with rising costs and food insecurity. Fortunately, Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries (TEAM) continues to be a steady source of hope and help—offering essential aid, compassionate care, and opportunities for neighbors to support one another.
Tomball’s Trusted Nonprofit Serving Families in Crisis
Founded in 1986 by a coalition of 13 churches determined to serve families in need, TEAM has grown into a vital lifeline in northwest Harris County. Now supported by more than 19 local congregations, the organization remains anchored in its founding mission to “follow Christ’s command to love and provide for families in crisis.” Over 90% of every dollar donated is used directly to assist those who walk through TEAM’s doors.
From October 2022 to September 2023, TEAM provided more than $400,000 in food and financial assistance. That legacy continues this summer.
Summer Services: Food Pantry & Financial Assistance
TEAM is currently offering two core services to Tomball-area residents facing hardship:
-
Financial Assistance – Every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., qualifying families can receive help covering critical expenses such as rent, utilities, and medical bills.
-
Food Pantry – Open on Tuesdays (10 a.m.–2 p.m.) and Thursdays (10 a.m.–12 p.m.), the pantry distributes groceries to households that meet certain eligibility requirements.
To receive groceries, residents must either live within TEAM’s service area, meet federal poverty guidelines, or face a verifiable emergency situation. Additionally, members of sponsoring churches may qualify with pastoral confirmation.
Even those who live outside the service area are eligible for a one-time food distribution, ensuring no neighbor is left behind.

Resale Shop Offers Bargains and Community Impact
TEAM’s Resale Shop, a 10,000-square-foot treasure trove of gently-used clothing, home goods, furniture, books, and baby gear, is also a meaningful way to give and receive. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the shop generates vital funds that support TEAM’s assistance programs.
Now through June 28, the shop is running a Clearance Orange Tag Sale: orange-tagged clothing is just $1, and all other orange-tagged items are 75% off.
Donations to the Resale Shop can be dropped off on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those with large items or furniture to donate can inquire about pickup availability by calling 281-255-6967 or visiting the TEAM website at teamtomball.com.
Walking Alongside the Community with Faith and Action
Summer in Tomball may be marked by barbecues and backyard fun, but for many, it also brings quiet struggles behind closed doors. TEAM encourages residents to remember those who are hurting—and reminds the community that help is here, both for those in need and for those who want to give back.
Whether you’re dropping off a can of food, shopping for gently-used goods, or reaching out for assistance, you’re part of a wider circle of care. Together, with faith and action, Tomball is making sure no neighbor is left behind.
