Team Behind Local Table to Open Local Spot in Cross Creek Ranch, Bringing Community Dining to Fulshear in 2025
Fulshear residents and visitors will soon have a new local gathering place when Eat Local Concepts opens its latest restaurant, Local Spot, in early 2025. The Houston-area restaurant group, which is known for the beloved Local Table, is expanding its footprint into the thriving Cross Creek Ranch community with a fresh concept designed around casual fare, craft cocktails, and a friendly, community-driven atmosphere.
Located at 6450 Cross Creek Bend Lane, adjacent to the Cross Creek Ranch Welcome Center, Local Spot will occupy the former space of the Italian Maid Café. The restaurant will not only offer delicious food and drinks, but also aims to become the heart of the Cross Creek Ranch neighborhood, creating an inviting and inclusive space for the local community.
“We wanted a gathering place for the community,” said Shervin Sharifi, co-owner of Eat Local Concepts alongside his brother Neima Sharifi. “When designing the space and menu, we’ve kept in mind how Local Spot will play a role in the larger community. We want it to be the go-to meeting place for the Cross Creek Ranch neighborhood and surrounding area.”

Creating a New Neighborhood Destination
While the restaurant’s menu is still in development, Shervin promises that Local Spot will offer something different from the group’s popular Local Table location. However, diners can expect a few crowd favorites to make an appearance. “We will have certain elevated dishes, some salads and entrees, but I envision the menu to be heavy on classic bar bites,” Shervin explained. The restaurant will cater to those who want a quick meal or a leisurely dining experience, with a variety of options for guests to either grab-and-go or stay and enjoy the atmosphere.
True to Eat Local Concepts' mission, Shervin and Neima want Local Spot to go beyond food. The restaurant will feature a range of community events designed to bring people together. “We’ll have ladies’ nights, viewing parties, bourbon nights for the guys,” Shervin said. “We plan to install a drop-down projection screen so that we can air movies for the kids while parents enjoy a glass of wine. We want this to be a family-friendly place where people can come and relax.”
The Sharifi brothers, along with their families, are residents of Cross Creek Ranch, making this new endeavor particularly special to them. “I moved here in 2013 and have watched Cross Creek Ranch grow tremendously,” Shervin shared. “When this space became available, we knew it had to be ours. We’re excited to launch this new concept in our own backyard — as long-time residents, we have a unique understanding of what the community and greater Fulshear area needs in terms of a place to dine out and gather.”

The Growing Cross Creek Ranch Community
Cross Creek Ranch is a 3,200-acre master-planned community developed by the Johnson Development Corp., and it continues to expand rapidly. Known for its family-friendly amenities and suburban charm, Cross Creek Ranch offers residents access to a variety of recreational options, including Adventure Island Water Park, a boardwalk with views of a community wildlife and bird sanctuary, and miles of hike-and-bike trails. The community also features the Canine Commons dog park, a fitness center, and sports facilities such as tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. “Cross Creek Ranch has grown tremendously in the years since I moved here,” Shervin said. “We’ve watched the community evolve, and when this space became available, we knew it was the perfect location for Local Spot. As residents ourselves, we understand what this neighborhood and its growing population need in terms of dining options. We’re excited to provide a new gathering spot right in our own backyard.”
